  1. Stupid...you have to know you're going to be safe.
  2. Hell of a swing by PK. He's been going to right with great effectiveness this week.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:41 AM) DJ says Alexei's feeling ok, probably ready to come off the bench, no big problems. That's good, because Nix looks so much better against LHP as compared to RHP.
  4. Beckham had a great hit and run effort there....problem is no one was on first.
  5. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:20 AM) Gonna be important to make him work tonight. Looks like your boy Egbert got hurt tonight.
  6. This umpire has a GIGANTIC strike zone. Greinke should be able to dominate if he's getting such a generous call not only up in the zone, but on the corners.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) That was a s***ty pass at a hit and run by Nix, Pods was dead to rights. I don't think it was a hit and run. Nix tried to distract Olivo.
  8. Jeez, we can't be giving away outs against Greinke. Pods just needs to stay on the bases when he gets on and set the table for the big boys.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) I've been as big a proponent of "the Sox should stop screwing around with Anderson and let him get extended playing time so we can see what he is once and for all." He's gotten more playing time than he ever has so far (although Ozzie is still doing more matchup crap with BA than I'd like) but he's hitting .234. If he was hitting .270 or higher, the job would be his. The biggest issue I have with Anderson is his terrible approach with RISP. With his defense, I'd be ok with .235 batting average if he would deliver with some RBIs once in a while.
  10. BTW, can someone explain to me why the Brewers intentionally walked Bradley with 2 out and a runner on 3rd? Do they not know that Bradley absolutely can't hit RHP this season?
  11. Just saw a replay of the final pitch. It's pretty telling when the batter isn't even trying to sell it as a walk. If that happened to a Cubs pitcher, someone on the Cubs would have punched the umpire and been suspended 1 game max.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Cubs win on a horrible call by the ump. 3-2 to Fox with bases loaded, the Brewers pitcher lays right down the heart of the plate, belt high and it's called a ball. Possibly 1.5 back after tonight with Ramirez back next week. Our best bet is the Cardinals, as Milwaukee might have the worst starting rotation in the majors.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) Where the hell was that last pitch? It's ridiculous the type of umpiring calls they've gotten lately.
  14. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:03 PM) I said we should of traded Anderson 2 years ago when he had value. Anderson's had very little value ever since the start of 2006. At this point, he's more valuable as a defensive replacement than as a trade chip.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:58 PM) Here comes a walk off and a ghey song Cubs seem to have that invincibility back at home they had last season.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) LoL Milton. Please make it hurt, Ryan Damn, Milwaukee continues to leave 2 on per inning it seems. That's 11 left on in the last 6 innings.
  17. Damn, hell of a throw by Fukudome there to get Suppan at home. Of course, Suppan would have given Thome a battle for slowest player in history.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 3, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) Is their a SS with less range than Theriot? I don't know, but Jason Kendall as leadoff hitter is pretty funny. Milwaukee's leaving a lot of men on base in the past few innings.
  19. Looks like teammates are already getting sick of him. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...mls&cc=5901
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 03:26 AM) A 2-3 of Beckham and a healthy Quentin sounds delicious. I think it's more likely we see a 2-3-4 of Alexei/Beckham/Quentin
