  1. Infield single for Butler. You have to pull Gavin here, especially after what Jacobs did last AB.
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 6, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) You wanna try tearing down Betemit or Allen based on meaningless conjecture or are you just going to avoid that? if we start to measure who should play based on Spring AB's Versus actual meaningfull at bats in the minors our organization really is screwed. David Cook seems to hardly be mentioned by the Sox brass. He's very old for AA and his numbers are nothing special.
  3. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 6, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) Gavin Floyd is a mental midget, period. He looks like a deer in somebody's headlights everytime he takes the mound That mental midget leads the AL in wild pitches!
  4. Leadoff walk for Gavin. Get Thornton and Dotel up in the pen.
  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 6, 2009 -> 12:23 AM) If he is hitting .300 aqnd getting on at a .375 clip f*** the OPS and rest of the crap he is what they need and DH would be his best spot. I am not saying replace Thome but if THome is injured put him in there. There is enough power from every other spot in the line-up when Anderson is in center. Let's just be happy he's been somewhat productive. He's swinging a magic wand right now, so whatever we can get out of him, the better.
  6. More aggressive with the offspeed that inning!!
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:19 PM) Pods offense has never really been an issue it is the defense. With the power in the line-up already. Pods at DH makes sense to me. He seems to be more aggresive than when he left. Pods at DH? WHAT?
  8. The 3-1 was a foot closer than the 3-0 strike.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) According to Gameday, all of them were off the fastball. I really wish he'd start using his curveball a lot more often. No reason to not use your #1 pitch (by a mile) more often.
  10. A couple of fantastic slides by the White Sox result in a run.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) Mike Jacobs...yes, 450 feet or so. The other 2 hits, off the end of the bat up the middle by Teahen, and a broken bat by Guillen. Has Gavin been giving up hits off of the fastball or offspeed?
  12. Opposite field hit for Alexei scores a run, and I like the base running. Here comes the squeeze.
  13. So what happened with Gavin? Were they hitting him hard?
  14. Dye continues to not do any damage with RISP.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Jim Thome just attacked an old man in the crowd with a bat! He's such an asshole.
  16. Good to see Josh! When going over any potential 3 year plan for the White Sox, our organization would be in such a better position if Fields can be a suitable starting 3rd baseman. Then, you don't even have to consider moving Beckham to a position where his power is negated.
  17. Who cares how it looks, that a boy Pods!
  18. Oh Alexei, still struggling to do anything that helps the team win. Kalapse, where's the breakdown on opposite field hits for Alexei this year compared to last year?
  19. Can't be by a TV this inning...did Alexei try to bunt?
  20. QUOTE (qwerty @ May 5, 2009 -> 09:52 PM) His percentage of pitches swung at outside of the zone while he has been a white sox. 2005- 19.8 % 2006- 20.6 % 2007- 23.5 % 2008- 24.8 % 2009- 24.3 % Great stuff...I wonder what the breakdown is according to count. He's been overly aggressive with 2 strikes at the plate.
  21. Dye is 2-20 with RISP this year. He batted an amazing .351 with RISP in 2006. You can tell he's not picking up the pitches well, as he's swinging at so many pitches out of the zone. His K/BB ratio is 24/6 this year.
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 5, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) I don't understand why everyone is freaking out. Did they not pay attention to the warts on this team last year. Same players, year later. This is a KW transition year. The division is crappy so we can complete. Meanwhile lets start to sprinkle some youth in the picture and start to move past this aging core. Notice the crew at AA right now. Why is it all of them are together. Why is it that so much effort and emphasis is on that crew. Because that is part of your new core. Getting used to playing with each other. This year may work out, then again it may not. But that nice looking group at AA gives me hope as a sox fan for long term success. And as a sox fan thats what I want. I am willing to deal with a mediocre year here, and there to get a nice young crew together. We have some nice pics here in this upcoming draft to load up even more. There should be a sign up, Don't mind our dust we are remolding. Come back in a year or so and see the new an improved team. I have beaten the Walk thing to death on this site, and if you have noticed I have kept out of it this year. Because its pointless. I don't particularly think he is good at his job, but its evident that he is here forever. So the speculation is pointless. They are not replacing him. So why even bother with it. Blow the torches out. Its not happening. And to be honest whats the point of replacing Walk with Gary Ward. I hope they do well this year. I hope the team figures out how to score runs again. I hope they stay healthy. If they don't, then there is no point in getting in bunches over it. That's a great post SSI.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:06 PM) Yeah I thought I would stop watching Harper's, but now I actually am some what enjoying it. That creepy little girl is great. Plus the fiance is amazing and the blonde isnt bad as well. The finance plays the slutty friend in Taken. With maybe 10 more pounds on her body, she's be phenomenal. Any thoughts on who the killer is? With absolutely no inside knowledge, I'm thinking it's the British accent guy.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) Getz 2b Fields 3b Quentin lf Thome dh Dye rf Konerko 1b Pierzynski c Ramirez ss Podsednik cf Again, Betemit is 3-5 with 2 homers against today's opposing starter. Does anyone else see something wrong here? As long as he's in there tomorrow against the pitcher with ridiculous righty/lefty splits last year, that's all that matters. I can't get too mad about this lineup tonight, as it's going to be our starting lineup for the next few weeks.
