QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:04 AM) If the White Sox Cubans were a stock index, it would be approaching 0. Contreras, Ramirez and Viciedo have all been awful. Even Cubano is making himself scarce. I wonder if anyone will care that KW's Cuban pipeline is drying up. Let's just hope they're all slow starters due to the colder weather. Viciedo has been really bad in AA.

After Getz, no one has given the Sox better at bats this year than Corky.
-
No...had chance to see him pitch. He was hanging every slider he threw.
-
On pace for what, the 5th shutout against us in 3 weeks?

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 03:41 AM) ugh, I can't believe how bad the Sox are getting beat. This is miserable. I actually turned on the Cubs game to get a little enjoyment out of seeing them lose. Is that bad of me? Hell no...that game salvaged the baseball night at least. Oh, and Greinke with another no earned run performance.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 03:15 AM) We're playing against the best team (right now) in the American League. They tore apart Gavin Floyd...everything they made contact with practically was a hit. We have no momentum after falling apart at Baltimore and they have all the momentum in the world. It won't stay like that forever. The White Sox won't continue to be a sub-.500 team at home all season. Judging anything in the AL based on last year is a big mistake. The depth in the AL is so much better, as the teams that sucked last year have a lot of young players that seem to be coming into their own. You look around the AL, and there's no teams that you sit back and wait for them to come up on your calendar.

Michael Young is a clutch god right now.
-
Remember the tidbit I relayed that Levine said today. The Sox are very, very concerned about Alexei's mental mindset right now.
-
Please let this be Alexei's last game at SS in his career!!
-
Romero's hurt. Jack Egbert just sucks. I'm so sick of these pitchers out of our minor leagues who throw 88 mph fastballs. I thought we were done with that terrible part in our franchise history?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 03:00 AM) Now the concerns are getting bigger than just Contreras, Ramirez and Viciedo. We have to worry about Floyd and the back of the rotation...and Thome just doesn't look right this season, either. I know he's hit a couple of opposite field homers, but his bat speed just seems to be missing. Ramirez and Getz are miscommunicating (probably was Getz's bag), wild pitches, walks, Anderson made an error, Ramirez opened the floodgates in the first and then Gavin (just like last year) didn't pitch around it. This has to be the ugliest four game stretch of White Sox baseball in a long time. We have a pretty sure loss Sunday and the Mariners are 12-5. The only bright spot is the rest of the AL Central sucks too, more or less. The AL Central doesn't suck. It's a divisiion full of solid teams.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:53 AM) That was probably one of my biggest concerns this year...putting the entire Lexi at SS eggs in one basket. Nobody knew what to expect. Honestly, I'm happy he hasn't had too many balls hit to him this year.

You've got to be kidding me. Schumaker just drops a routine pop up in the Cubs/Cards game. Cubs in position to take the lead. That was the worst dropped fly I've ever seen.
-
QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 01:48 AM) All in all, an overall s*** effort all around tonight, way to go guys. Gavin's fastball was ass, Alexei was ass period, no RISP hitting capability, K's a plenty, so frustrating. And the Cubs are making a comeback
-
Yep, this Alexei stuff at SS isn't going to work. His footwork is pathetic.
-
Alexei looks just awful at SS
-
5-0 on the wild pitch. Booing has started

Hey kalapse...if you read this, is there a site that has stats about what the batting average is against certain pitches thrown by a particular pitcher?
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:32 AM) Scott Rolen comes to the plate, and promptly jumps on a fastball. He can't hit the curveball, keep pumping fastballs in. Then Anderson boots it, then a ball to the screen and Rolen is on 3rd. I guess should give up. It's two of the worst performances by a Sox team in a long time. Gettting dominated by terrible starting pitchers is embarassing with our lineup being completely healthy.

AJP is the worst defensive catcher in baseball, and it's not even close.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:29 AM) Didn't see Brian's atbat, but from what I read his double was opposite field? He seems to be a bit more comfortable (finally). The ball just jumps off his bat. If he could ever find a way to get the bat on the ball more efficiently, he could easily hit 25 homers a year.
-
5 scoreless innings for Greinke so far tonight.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) Pitches out of it with the curve. That's the only thing that seems to be working for him tonight. He might have the best curve of anyone in the majors tonight.
-
Good job by Gavin getting the big out. Still in this game.
-
Gavin's lost his release point...shades of that Detroit start now.
