  1. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:48 PM) that's quite the statement when you consider the team he's on I know, but guys like Anderson have shown the ability to take it to right before.
  2. Stat guys...when's the last time we had a hit with RISP? I know it was Thome, but how many in a row is that?
  3. Ugh...Nix is one of the biggest pull hitters I've ever seen. He has a good, short swing, but it results in a lot of fly balls to left/left center instead of rockets to the right center gap.
  4. We're catching some breaks today.
  5. Hopefully Nix has a good AB. Be a nice time for him to realize right field isn't an automatic out.
  6. Sowers on pace to match his K numbers from this entire season.
  7. Doug is not having a good game behind the plate.
  8. So yeah, Travis Hafner looks like he's close to being back. Maybe he found a new supplier.
  9. Raise your hand if you put your head down on that swing?
  10. Wow, I thought he hit that 450 feet. BTW, use two hands Nix.
  11. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) ozzie can only do so much with the hitters.. You can look at video, see research, try pump them up by bringing up likes of beckham energize ball park and what not. I really dont know what you can do with team like that. How about a hit-and-run with Getz on 1st and a pull-happy hitter up to the plate?
  12. Ugh....Hafner up in a position to do a lot of damage. Can't believe they didn't throw a curve in that last AB.
  13. Needs to throw a good curveball here on 3-2.
  14. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) gotta charge that ball brian He did a good job at getting into throwing position.
  15. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) can you blame ozzie? nothing he can do about situation with the way this team has been playing. Well, if he's telling his players to have fun, then he might not want to act like he's at a funeral.
  16. Gavin getting into trouble. 2 on, 1 out. Choo's a very scary hitter in this situation.
  17. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) Ozzie not a happy camper. Good observation, seemed very down.
  18. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) Can we please get BA out of here. I mean seriously Are you watching on TV? They showed the hole between 1st and 2nd, and it was gigantic.
  19. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:18 PM) anderson isnt a bad fourth outfielder. Doesn't need be demotoed, just need eveyrday cf But if he can't hit LHP, he's not going to help out very much. Between CQ/Pods/Dye, you're looking at a guaranteed number of starts due to injuries the rest of this year. We need better than BA.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:17 PM) and play who in CF? Alexei? and with who as a back up? Sorry, when Quentin returns...and Pods goes to CF.
  21. Wow, what a terrible player. There's a huge hole between 1b and 2b, and Anderson's pulling the low and away pitch. I'm beginning to hope we demote him soon and just DFA Wise. Go find a back-up outfielder...there's better ones playing for Newark in the Atlantic League.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) This is the Floyd I love. To those watching: Is Gavin switching up the sequence of his pitches and finishing with the curve, or is he overpowering with his fastball? Everything with his curve.
  23. Lets break this game open, and give Floyd some breathing room.
  24. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 6, 2009 -> 10:10 PM) actually, doesn't it only make sense to use stretch prematurely? he's asking the ball to stretch - go further - so... for an obvious HR it'd be silly to say it. Anyway, I think that's Hawk's logic these days. He doesn't tend to say stretch anymore on actual HRs Yes, but stretch on a ball that is 5 feet from the warning track is insulting to the fans. People watching on TV can't tell the trajectory of the ball and if it's off the bat...and I guess Hawk can't either.
