QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) How is that? They showed him stretching out his back.

Ugh, Betemit looks terrible against LHP.

Jermaine looks shaken up in the dugout. PK with the double, 2-0 Sox!

Dye hits into a soft double play. 1-0 Sox.

CQ is so good at laying off the 3-2 pitch out of the zone.

Between CB last night and Iassogna today, we've been witness to why they're two of the worst umpires around.

Cardinals playing just brutal defense in this series. Is Heilman about to become the first 3-0 pitcher in baseball?

Why do teams keep throwing Fukudome fastballs to hit? He proved last year that he can't hit anything offspeed.

Sox @ Rays, 6:08, WGN
To be fair to Ozzie, there aren't sliders in the minors from LHP like what Liriano and Kazmir will throw. If he starts going with these types of lineups against Horacio Ramirez-esque LHP, then I'll worry.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 10:14 PM) so there were reports that gregg couldnt go multiple innings....because his knee locks up sitting in the dugout... does someone else pitch the 9th then?? Heilman? Wood? Powers?

Ugh...Larussa is just getting his ass kicked this series.

Rasmus has looked overmatched at the plate when I've seen him hit this season. I still can't believe he didn't have Thurston bunt, as they would have loaded the bases for Skip.

Wow, the called 3rd on Thurston wasn't even close. If you go back to Fukudome's walk in the 5th inning, that pitch was significantly worse than the ones called a ball to Fuku.

Funny I mentioned the bunt thing above, because in the situation with a weak, speedy guy like Thurston batting, you have to bunt to get the runner to 3rd with less than 2 outs.

I used to love watching Dodgers games late at night when Gagne would come in and dominate the opposition. Broxton is getting to that level now also. He has the best fastball in the majors. That Dodgers team is fantastic, especially if Martin remembers he's supposed to be good.

And just like that, Marmol hangs a couple of sliders and Cards tie it up. I love when teams don't bunt!

The goat of the game would have been Salmons if the Bulls lost. He was horrible in the 2nd half.

It's really too bad Piniella didn't name Marmol the Cubs closer. He's such an equalizer in the 7th and 8th inning.

Top of the order for the Cubs (Soriano and Fukudome) have nearly a 2.4 OPS combined.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 18, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) yeah I just read that on mlb.com thought it was a mistake. It actually says 14 runs. Yep, Sizemore homered after the 13th run. Wang's ERA is now 34.50 after 3 starts.
