  1. Screw that...sit Dye. You can't keep playing him right now as he's absolutely useless.
  2. -So Wise has been playing well in the 2nd spot, and Cabrera has been solid this month in the 1st spot. Why in the hell did Ozzie flip them in the order? If it was to get Wise on and run with OC at the plate, then have Wise run in the 1st inning! -Griffey cannot hit LHP, it's plain and simple. With a bench full of players due to September call-ups, it's embarrassing that Griffey has been allowed to face LHP in the 8th inning in 2 of our last 4 games.
  3. Delete this thread and blow up any incriminating evidence.
  4. Let's just pretend the Rally Wise never happened. Ozzie's job should be on the line tomorrow....this team has quit on him.
  5. Well.....this is setting up to be interesting. Owens can't get caught stealing here.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:39 AM) That's a triple if Jr. is playing CF. You think we might get a threat from Ozzie tonight that he's going to quit?
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) So in that sense we're just about like every other team in baseball with a couple of good young players. We're going to need more than 4 players to compete. The rest of the team is crumbling. Well, no one considers the Sox to be a top-notch organization right now. They're probably in the 8-15 range.
  8. That was a good at bat by Alexei, not much more you could ask for.
  9. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 03:36 AM) Everything setting up for the Twins nicely, isn't it? They've also shut down Greinke for the season.
  10. DeJesus got hurt tonight and will miss the rest of the season for KC likely.
  11. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) Why is it a great season? This is not an up-and-coming team. The core of this team is in their 30s. There is nothing good about an old team coming close and missing out. It's been a productive season for this organization. We had very little to look forward to for the future when April came around, and now we have 4 players in Quentin/Ramirez/Floyd/Danks that can be cornerstones for the next 3-5 years.
  12. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) Yeah, I just love the talks about Kenny getting "mad" and speculating of what he'll do in the offseason. He'll probably do what he always does: make some terrible trades and ignore all of our needs at the trade deadline. Chad Bradford's ERA for Tampa coming into tonight was around 1
  13. QUOTE (kane0730 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) I know I won't be. This team, as it currently stands, would get smoked by any team in the 1st round. Next week, I'll be rooting my heart out for the Dodgers, Mets, or Phillies. Oh yes, I'm right with you. The second the Sox stop playing this season, it's go anyone but the Cubs time.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) If at any point the last 2 weeks, we won 3 in a row, that is it, three games in a row, this series would be irrelevant. Agreed....I still can't believe we let Richard get beat by Nady at Yankee Stadium last week. That game, the pathetically managed Horacio Ramirez suspended game, and Dotel's awful performance in Oakland, are the games that really stick out.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:28 AM) This game will be remembered for that call at 2B. Unless the Sox come back, this game won't be remembered at all. Tomorrow is as close to a play-in game to the playoffs as you'll get.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:25 AM) I know you are a Sox fan, but I would question that if that was the case. I just don't feel it at all with this team. 2006 was more heartbreaking than this is shaping up to be. SCOTT LINEBRINK SHOULD NOT BE PITCHING IN A BIG SITUATION!
  17. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) Well this has been a fun yet extremely irritating season thus far.... It's kept me entertained all the way up until and extending past game 157. There's nothing else you can ask for. I can't believe Linebrink is in. He's only better than Ramirez and Logan right now.
  18. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:23 AM) I'm now experimenting with the rationale that it's better to lose the division because if KW gets mad enough, maybe a lot of heads roll. Maybe not though. Maybe they just end up citing the lack of Quentin. or maybe we sign Nick Punto to a 3 yr, 15 million dollar deal to be our 2nd baseman, trade Poreda and others for Figgins, and get some other crappy grinder to try and become the Twins. Too bad Pods isn't around, as we could trade Quentin for him also.
  19. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:22 AM) f***in cowards Will you lose much sleep if this team misses the playoffs? I honestly don't think I will.
  20. Gardenhire is absolutely abusing us. He's getting the perfect match-ups for his relievers by putting them in a position to succeed. Ramirez should be batting after Konerko, as Konerko is so bad against LHP that having Thome/PK/Griffey in a row is too easy for the Twins and their 4 lefty relievers.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 02:21 AM) Paulie looks like he wants to take a nap. He'll have plenty of time to sleep in 5 days.
  22. Way to pull off the ball Thome. You're just so clutch!
  23. This would really be the time for Thome to just bunt the ball.
