  1. There's no point in playing Griffey. It's crazy to think of the mediocre players we're relying on right now. Wise, Owens, Broadway, Richard, Wassermann, Ramirez.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:13 AM) His latest elias ratings puts him well in the A range. We are getting a first rounder and a sandwich pick for him then. Yes, but if a team like the Giants sign him, then the pick would be a sandwich pick that could be 15-20 spots lower.
  3. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) Last year I kept track of the players I wanted to get rid of in the offseason, and I had about 9 of 13 meet my wish. For next season I'm thinking Cabrera, Wasserman, Logan, Crede, Wise, Owens, Griffey, Hall, and maybe Swisher if we could get something of fair value. Of course I hoped and said the same thing about Garland, and look what that netted us. I don't want Logan gone. He's a perfect compliment to Thornton. I like your list so far though.
  4. This umpiring crew has handed the Cubs this game. A blown balk call on Marmol, and then a bad call on a bunt play at 3rd base.
  5. QUOTE (almagest @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:08 AM) God these game threads are awful. Just awful. It's funny because Soxtalk members post goofy gamethreads from other teams, poke fun at them, then promptly turn around and do the exact same things. Also Nick Swisher is so terrible that he's still managed to put up roughly league-average numbers while enduring perhaps the worst season in his career. He's also got an absurdly low BABIP -- you know, the stat he has no control over and basically amounts to luck. Anyways, tough loss, especially since Gavin pitched so well. The bullpen really let us down. Let's get back to winning against the Tigers. Swisher doesn't make good contact very often. He's not exactly a line drive hitter. From the left side, which is supposed to be his strong side, he looks like he's swinging an invisible bat. I thought it was telling that 19 of his 24 homers have come at the Cell.
  6. QUOTE (aprec32 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:06 AM) He will get his contract, even if he doesn't get another hit the rest of the season. It will be a very large one too...............think Dodgers! That would be perfect...a nice 1st rounder for the Sox.
  7. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:07 AM) Oh come on. Jose Canseco... and second place is NOT even close. What was wrong with Jose? I had no problem with his antics when he was on the Sox. From everything we've heard, he was a perfect teammate.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:06 AM) bad time for paulie to go down because swisher is f***ing CLUELESS at the plate right now. What a chunk of s***. And wasserman can just go away, please, for the love of god. Call up Brad Eldred!
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 04:05 AM) get a grip. Sorry, he's the most unlikeable White Sox player during my watching years. A piece of s*** on and off the field.
  10. Did you know that Orlando Cabrera has one extra base hit in the last 2 weeks? Does he know he's in a contract year?
  11. I really, really hate our two big acquisitions via major league trades this past offseason.
  12. OC got two great pitches to hit, but didn't really put good swings on them.
  13. Swings at ball 4. What a terrible f***ing player.
  14. OZZIE....GO GET TOSSED! BTW Griffey, please retire. You are terrible
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:53 AM) Did it help us? I have been out of the area for a few days Ended up being the winning run.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:52 AM) When is the last time Nick Swisher had a hit? Last night
  17. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:51 AM) I actually want to see Hall pinch hit for AJ not because of his splits, but it prevents AJ from hacking at the first pitch by the wild BJ Ryan Maybe he'll take a HBP on the elbow guard?
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:50 AM) BOONE MANS UP! Maybe that will get him some more confidence down the road.
  19. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 12, 2008 -> 02:47 AM) Logan coming in with the bases loaded? s***, Ozzie sent this one in a while ago. Quiet, don't tell Ozzie that Carrasco is better against lefties than righties.
