QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 04:00 AM) HUUUUUUGE Comeback win by the Salukis tonite. Carlton Fay and Bryan Mullins were big contributors tonite. SIU vs Duke at Madison Square Garden tomorrow baby! They play next week, not tomorrow. Great comeback win...I can't wait to watch Dillard on tv.

Williams Shopping Jermaine
You better get back at least one prospect that you know can be on your 25 man roster next season. Those Mets pitchers would be a disappointing return.

Details of the Peavy trade negotiations...
Cubs blogs are going nuts with a rumor that Peavy is being dealt for Theriot, Pie, and Marshall (and then Cubs would sign Furcal). Please, please don't be true!

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 03:54 AM) Again no he hasnt. Orton has really only had 2 stellar games and they were against 2 teams with brutal secondaries in Minny/Detroit. Other than that he has been average to below average. I guess people forget his brutal performance at Carolina.

Marty Booker has had a terrible game. He's not gone after any ball thrown to him aggressively. Nice call on that 2nd and 1...ugh!

I love Rex, but he's been disgraceful since that first drive. Hester and Maynard are worthless now, and Tillman sucks as well.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 07:04 PM) The play calling with Turner always goes from surprising and effective to completely stale and predictable between series Everyone in the world knows Rex is best down the field over the middle, and yet, they haven't thrown one yet in that direction.

Thabo is terrible...Cavs made that big run in the 4th when he was out there making dumb decision after dumb decision. Does he have more fouls than points this season?

Details of the Peavy trade negotiations...
Sounds like Cubs are going to get him, as the Padres would rather have a surplus of mediocre pitchers than actually get future studs. I'm convinced that Hendry has incriminating evidence on some of these GMs.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 12:28 AM) Is Wood A or B? I think A....I don't think he'd ever play for the White Sox.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) There is a really solid chance Cordero isn't ready for Opening Day. Not a bad gamble, but not someone you want to count on. If Jenks really was traded, I'd give SFX a call about Wood. If Jenks was traded to the Mets, you'd probably see the Sox get Feliciano back in the trade and move Thornton to the closer role with Linebrink and Dotel as the set-up men.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
QUOTE (Fantl916 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 12:02 AM) i could see a scenario where we made that Javy trade to the Mets, sent Bobby and Broadway to Tampa for Sonnanstine and Wade Davis, and rolled with Thornton as our closer. Sonnanstine is awful...he'd get destroyed pitching at the Cell.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
If Jenks was on a different team and you looked at his decline in K/IP, you'd say you were skeptical he could keep it up for the next 3 seasons or so.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) If the Sox traded Jenks, I wonder if they would make a run at K-Rod or Fuentes possibly? Not a chance. They'd give Thornton a chance at closing.

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) BTW, Bruce was The Show last night, and said Williams and Omar were talking at length numerous times at the meetings, FWIW. I could easily see a realistic trade of Javy and someone like Anderson for Murphy and Heilman

Mets & White Sox Have Been Talking...
You don't trade Jenks for a package of prospects. The rumors from other sites is that it would be Vazquez and Jenks for Beltran. However, this seems like the longest of longshots.

Phillies interested in Dye?
QUOTE (Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) You misspelled Marson No, I was talking about getting pitching from them with Ryan Madson.

Phillies interested in Dye?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) Then we need to find a taker for Anderson as well. Why can't he just be our 4th outfielder/defensive replacement?
-
Phillies interested in Dye?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) Stop trying to find us Outfielders! We have 4 not counting Wise and Owens! We're not trading 1 OF to keep having too many OF's! Yet we still don't have a CF. The Phillies have little with regards to young pitching besides Carrasco. Kyle Kendrick is terrible, and they're not going to trade Madson.

Phillies interested in Dye?
QUOTE (sircaffey @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) With Cardenas gone, do they even have any worthy of trading Dye for? Don't they have Luke Donald? I would love to get Werth in exchange for Dye.
-
Phillies interested in Dye?
Please stop using Broadway as an actual piece in a trade. A Dye trade would likely be for one of the Phillies middle infield prospects.

2008 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 07:40 AM) That ugly Notre Dame guy has no reason to waive his no trade clause, no reason at all. I'm sure he would if asked to but I don't understand why. He'll waive it to be in the Padres starting rotation, as there would likely be no spot for him in the Cubs rotation this upcoming season.
