  1. Did you know lefties are hitting .432 in their career against Wassermann?
  2. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) wait, you want Fields playing third late in a close game over juan? At this rate, the #9 spot in the lineup won't come up again. If we were winning, you'd never take Uribe out of the game.
  3. Should have ph Wise for Uribe, and maybe they would have pulled Burnett.
  4. QUOTE (Sox It To Em @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) Terrible AB by Juan. If only Dustin Moseley was pitching.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) It's really hard to describe this game. Errors, people stepping on people, poor umpiring, men left on bse, etc. And the usual Vazquez 6th inning tank job.
  6. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:25 PM) Hahaha atta boy Swish Ugh, I hate sarcasm in game threads when I can't watch the game.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 08:21 PM) Griffey shoulda taken that 3-1 pitch. 2 errors by McDonald, wow. That is really shocking to see. Did Griffey swing at a ball?
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:12 PM) I think its safe to say AJ did that trying to get a base hit. Gotcha, thanks. I think it's time to move Alexei into the 2nd spot and hope he can get hot and generate offense.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 09:11 PM) I really think AJ did that on his own. He needs to stop it then. That's 4 unsuccessful bunts in the last 15 games.
  10. I'm so freaking sick of giving up the first out in the inning due to bunting. I can't remember the last time it was actually successful. Maybe Ozzie thought the score was 1-0, and not 2-0?
  11. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) burnett has no-no stuff today No surprise there, he's been ridiculous lately. You have to find a way to lay off his curve, and hope he has no command of his fastball.
  12. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 06:50 PM) We're just so bad at the little things. So bad Did Uribe try to bunt?
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) We knew it was gonna be a struggle losing Q. Just gotta play as well as we can and give us a shot at the end. It sucks that Getz is also injured, as I was hoping he could give us a boost against one of these tough righties.
  14. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) nice at bat paulie. For those following via the thread due to work, we beg of you to not use sarcasm.
  15. So, can this offense get to double digits in this 4 game series? We didn't come close at Toronto. I wonder if the Blue Jays would win the AL Central if they were in the division.
  16. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) The speed is a problem as well. Obviously Tampa causes that problem, but I just fear the Angels more. Something that's interesting is how bad the bottom of the orders are for most of the top AL teams. Now that we're done playing them, I'll gladly say that Sean Rodriguez is one of the worst players in the majors. No wonder the dumbass K'd on a 4-2 pitch.
  17. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:59 PM) Tampa is by far the strongest IMO. They are a lot like us in '05. We're a lot like Boston in '05. Tampa doesn't scare me at all. A lot of easy outs in their lineup. Kazmir is the only starter of theirs that I fear. I think Boston, with a healthy squad, is the best team in the AL.
  18. QUOTE (alexgtp @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) As of 3:50. The game is still on for tonite. I think the Sox will tkae the series. Why does everyone not want to face Burnett.. I say bring it. I would rather lose to quality pithcing than to ask for a rainout! Sox need to face many good pitchers in the playoffs. So they should start practicing now! See you all at the game! Personally, I don't want the Sox to play because I'm emotionally drained from sports from the last few days, and I'd rather not have to worry about the game tonight and just watch Prison Break, etc.
  19. The Sox's pitchers match up very well against the Angels offense. The only problem with the Angels, from our end, is that we absolutely can't touch Saunders or Weaver.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) I don't feel good about this series at all. The Blue Jays have some serious talent. I have no idea why they've overachieved so badly. Burnett has been on a roll the last 2 months or so. And you never know what Javy you're going to get. We need our lefty hitters to step up this series, as there's some filthy stuff coming from the right side of the mound.
  21. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Then what does that make the Sox? All those teams are better. I don't think anyone on here is proclaiming the Sox, without Quentin, to be world beaters. Just enjoy we're in the position we're actually in. If you couldn't enjoy last night's game after the fact, then there's no reason to ever watch baseball.
  22. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I really don't think this team is doing anything without Quentin. I guess they can luck out by backing into the playoffs if Minnesota plays as poorly as they have. They are outclassed against the other top AL teams. The other top AL teams aren't anything special.
  23. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) He couldn't have done a better job of convincing people to throw him off the team than yesterday's debacle of not lifting the bat off his back in two ABs. If only Crede could have stayed healthy for two more weeks, Fields would have been traded at the deadline. There's no way he's on the team next year. And FWIW, I was one of his biggest fans last year.
