  1. The last two days of baseball have absolutely, positively sucked!
  2. Cubs have done an absolutely wonderful job of checking their swing tonight.
  3. The Twins are playing better baseball than the White Sox are right now. Ever since about a week prior to the ASB, our fielding and pitching has just gone to s***.
  4. I still don't understand why the A's just gave up Gaudin. He would have looked lovely on our roster.
  5. What in the world is Yost thinking leaving Gagne in here? Sometimes I forget how much I hated that tool last season.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 03:33 AM) The only thing we can do right now is forget this game ever happened and go out and play with some intensity tomorrow. That's basically all you can do. Yep, group hug time, and it's just one game.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 03:33 AM) Anyone else taking the Cubs/Brew talk to the Cubs thread in DC? will do
  8. PK seems to be getting worse, and that didn't seem possible. Anderson needs to be in CF, with Swisher at 1b.
  9. I love watching Bobby Howry pitch to power hitters. You always feel like the hitter has a good chance to connect.
  10. At least Wassermann pitched well. Much better chance of him getting big outs down the stretch than Masset.
  11. Nick Masset's WHP is now in the 1.75 range, and the opposition is hitting about .315 against him. It's sad to think we kept him over Aardsma.
  12. Hawk's the only person in baseball who thinks Gomez is this much of a catalyst. Casilla's been much more instrumental for the Twins success over the past few months.
  13. Maybe Masset will give up 5 runs and finally convince KW that he shouldn't be in the majors.
  14. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) Screw you guys, this is A SOX GAME THREAD This game is over...since a lot of us have turned on the Cubs game, might as well talk about it in here.
  15. So Reed Johnson has one of the most illegal slides you'll ever see, and there's no interference call. He didn't even slide until past the base, and he hit Weeks well above the knees. I hate that steroid bastard.
  16. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) Still thinking this is a win, right? Maybe you can explain to me how you think the Sox have a better starting staff than the Brewers? Wait, someone actually thinks that we do?
  17. Our old friend Doug Eddings is being quite friendly to the Cubs tonight. Two blown calls at 3rd base.
  18. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) Thanks, don't tell Hawk about the umpire. Did Lou come out and thank the ump? Also in response to the thought of the game being over in the 4th. Earlier in the season the pitching would keep the team in the game. Recently this has not been the case and thereby the offense has not been able to get back into it. Thsi offense is pretty predictable especially lately. Rickie Weeks pathetic defense opens the door for the Cubs in the 7th.
  19. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) Have the Brewers on MLB anyone know if Hart gave himself up to guarantee the run? Hall with a single would have made it 4-2. Maybe I should flip the cubs on as I have not brought the Sox any luck. Actually, if Lee didn't cut it off, Fielder was out at home. Hart was safe anyways, bad call by the ump.
  20. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:54 AM) Our hitters swing at 0-2 pitches too much, anyone else notice this? Intelligent hitters know 9 times out of 10, an 0-2 pitch is a throw away pitch, but we go up there hacking I think it's worse when our hitters constantly chase 3-2 offspeed pitches. CQ is great at this, but everyone else seems to get fooled.
  21. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:52 AM) i don't think the sox have ever come back against him. we finally got to Todd Jones (I know, two very different closers), but maybe the worm has turned. Jermaine Dye homered off of him to tie it, but we eventually lost.
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2008 -> 01:48 AM) i don't think this game is out of reach, personally. I think we just have to string two of those hits together. They have my runner-up for the Cy Young award at the back of their bullpen though.
  23. I just want him to go up to the plate and swing as hard as he can on 3 pitches, and if he misses all of them, he sits down. I'm sick of this s*** he's doing at the plate by trying to guide it to right field. He ends up fouling off very hittable pitches.
