  1. Ouch, Lohse coming back to earth. What is with teams pitching to hitters with an open base (men on 2nd and 3rd) and less than 2 outs?
  2. It's amazing the difference in the Sox 2-5 hitters compared to the Cubs. You expect nothing with the Sox, but when the Cubs 2-5 hitters are up, you're shocked if they don't reach base and score at least one run. So far, it really hurts that Fukudome looks to be a much better player than Swisher.
  3. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ May 3, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) So Crede's errors cost the Sox both games... not that they were going to win these games anyway, since the offense is brutal, but this is not a good way to start May off. Hopefully Dye found his swing again... If I were Ozzie i would start considering a major lineup adjustment. For example: Swisher (no one else is really an option) Cabrera Dye (It looks like he has his timing back) Thome (May be better suited behind Dye) Quentin (Call me crazy, but how can you not put him up in the lineup the way he has been hitting!) Konerko (Paulie bat 6th, am i crazy!! Umm have you seen his average, moving him down does him and everyone else good) Pierzynski (He scuffling right now.. so he can stay here) Crede (He still swinging a good stick, so its good to have balance at the bottom of the order) Uribe (The easy out should hit where the pitcher does in the NL!) Ozzie has to do something... NOT sit on his hands like he did 2007. Leadoff position doesn't mean s***. However, when it starts impacting how a player thinks at the plate, you need to make a change. I don't care if AJP leads off...as long as it's not Swisher.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 3, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) Right on. A few well timed hits can bring this team around. Nothing like a grand slam at the right time to start us on a winning streak. You always hear that hitting is contagious, well I would like to see this group of hitters coe down with the flu, or at least a cough. Well timed hits? We've only had 2 innings in the last 2 games where we had multiple hits/walks in the same inning.
  5. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Good question, the offense overall is my enemy right now, its pathetic. It's definitely OC for me...terrible offensive and defensively.
  6. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) He just called out the whole offense besides Carlos. "They need to get their heads out of their asses and start hitting" How about he gets his head out of his ass and stop pitching to guys with an open base?
  7. I guess those reports during ST that Crede was now mediocre on defense were accurate.
  8. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) Ah ok, so if that error isn't made, the Jays don't DIRECTLY score the 3 runs that provided the difference then? No one is saying that everything else didnt suck, the hitting overall, etc. But that one play by Mr. Gold Glove himself DIRECTLY led to 3 runs, the difference in the game. Pretty clear. Unreal, isn't it? BTW, who's your new hated player since Pods is gone?
  9. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 08:43 PM) I just want to say, thanks again Joe Crede, for some real f***tardery defense. Its not often that someone can lose back to back games with their defense. I could only imagine the outrage if it was Josh Fields that did this.
  10. Terrible Thome...just a worthless player late in the game.
  11. Note to self...don't acquire players that started off in Oakland.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) Probably and it is a lot but with no prospects it may be the best choice. I agree, but I worry about him after he signs another big contract. At this point though, anything but OC in 2009.
  13. Swisher's slugging is .330. Ryan Sweeney could do that.
  14. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) now 2 runs, thanks again Joe Credeocre for your awesome defense. That would be an accomplishment if he loses both games due to his fielding.
  15. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) I really hope we got more than a set up man for a 1st rnd pick. Compared to other Sox first round picks, that would be an accomplishment.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) I think Poreda will eventually be the next Billy Wagner (and I say that in a good way because Wagner when healthy was pretty dominate for a good long time). I think he's the next Matt Thornton (and that's not really a bad thing). He can be a power lefty set-up man.
  17. Something to beat yourself up over....check out the stats of R. Furcal, who was just as likely to get traded for Garland as OC was.
  18. I'm really concerned KW will panic now and trade Fields and Poreda for Roberts.
  19. Damn, there goes the scoreless series. BTW, Thome's now at a fantastic .120 in the 7th inning and on!
  20. QUOTE (the People's Champ @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) Can't trade him anyway he's a "5 and 10" guy He can still agree to the move, and if it was to someone on the west coast, I'm sure he'd agree to it. Same goes for Thome...unless he wants to retire without a WS ring.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 3, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) Somehow I hope Kenny is sitting there and realizing the Sox have a lot of pieces in place but he needs to make a significant tweak or two which really adjusts the entire makeup of the offense (and moving Thome/Konerko would do exactly that). Good luck trading PK now with his hand tendinitis.
  22. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 3, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) Game. Thanks again for an awesome team KW and Ozzie The motivation provided by our manager is awesome! If this team finishes in the 70 win range like it seems it will, he'll probably be canned.
  23. Just trade Crede now while his value is still pretty high. Another month, and he's likely to be looking at a .230 average and double digit errors.
