Konerko injures rib cage, may hit DL
Ozzie's already said Thome's back won't allow him to play first base.

Konerko injures rib cage, may hit DL
QUOTE (29andPoplar @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 04:00 PM) We covered this Sat. night while listening to "Shanty". I am not looking forward to it either. I hate these series, I hate all the back-and-forth with the loudmouth Cub fans and it has started already. It is like a pack mentality with those people, they are like sheep bleating and bleating. Unless Williams has a trade up his sleeve, then he needs to bite the bullet and sign the guy he wants. It's painfully obvious, especially after this weekend's games. I agree, I hate the series more than anyone. If someone would tell me the Sox win 2 out of 6, I'd say fine and not watch the games at all. I really am not looking forward to all the offspeed pitches we miss against Dempster. Also, it will be interesting if Danks can last 5 innings with the patient Cubs offense.

What is with Ozzie leaving his starting pitchers in way too long lately? He had been doing such a good job earlier in the season, but over the course of the last week, it's been just awful. I hope we don't see Owens instead of Eldred if PK goes to the DL. However, with what Taveras did this weekend, I'm sure Ozzie wants his speedy leadoff hitter.

Told you!
QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 03:52 AM) it is possible, but I am sure he was banged up in cuba and played. I still think Uribe is being showcased. Like anyone would want the bum. Have you see Hu and Berroa for the Dodgers? With Furcal not coming back for another month, the Dodgers might be interested.

QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 04:46 AM) Fathom, it has been reported that we tried to get lofton, I still think we are trying. that "type" of player is what is needed. Fields won't change a damn thing. Ozuna is on the roster until that "type" of move is made. In addition OZZIE the nutball like him. a better question is why do we have Uribe on the roster. Heis over paid, and over weight. he is the guy that needs to go. MY opinion. Just send Uribe to the Dodgers already!

I used to think Ozuna was an extremely valuable bench player, but now that we're carrying Uribe and Ramirez on the roster, there's just no need for him.

QUOTE (quickman @ Jun 15, 2008 -> 04:28 AM) so you want to platoon him with crede? stop it. He is no savior. We will win or lose with our 12 million dollar men. You find places to get him into the lineup against LHP. Tonight, you could have easily had him DH and give Quentin a day off. He was one of the top hitters in baseball last season against LHP, and now that we're struggling against LHP, you need to get him into the lineup. Why exactly is Ozuna on the roster? We just faced 3 straight lefties, and he didn't sniff the starting lineup. We have Uribe to be a backup at all three of the infield positions.

Pablo Ozuna is absolutely a waste of a roster spot. Call up Fields, and find a way to play him against LHP.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
Eckstein boots a routine grounder, and ends up leading to 4 runs for the Cubs against Halladay. I don't understand how official scorers don't give errors on routine plays anymore. Edit: Changed to an error

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 05:07 AM) I have found the opposite to be true. Usually things go down the s***ter when fathom shows up mid-game. But I'm just biased because I hate him. Classy

Did anyone see Thome tonight?

Shows what I know. That seemed like a Cubs win at Wrigley.

Jenks needs to worry about the hitter. Ianetta has a ton of power, and he can't afford to take off 2 mph to do a slide step.

Hopefully Jenks has his good hook next inning, as he's facing 3 great fastball hitters.

QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 14, 2008 -> 03:19 AM) I noticed that if you post in the game thread from the start of the game, Sox win a lot more games. Don't tell that to ss2k or soxfan or everyone else that hates me.

That 2-2 pitch was definitely a strike to OC.
