  1. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:54 AM) Not that this is the thread for this question, but is he out of the game, or ? Yes, taken to the hospital for x-rays. Nice to see OC rob his buddy Edgar.
  2. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) I don't like the matchup tomorrow. I see Mark getting hit around pretty good tomorrow. Just not our series. The pitching is a big concern, but hopefully the Sox get fat off the NL. They need to. Rockies have Holliday and Hawpe back, so that series doesn't seem as easy as it might have two weeks ago (when Cubs faced them). I would be so delighted if we find a way to win tomorrow. The Tigers seem like they might be able to just single Buehrle to death tomorrow. Too bad they don't have J. Jones still.
  3. We'll see Zambrano in both series. I also don't look forward to seeing our hitters chase every offspeed pitch that Dempster throws.
  4. Sox starting pitching had not looked good the last 3 games. Time to get Vazquez out of there, and preserve his arm.
  5. Possible good news for the Sox....Soriano just got hit in the hand, hopefully it's broke or effects him for the next few weeks when we play them 6 times
  6. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:37 AM) Rockies website has Francis, TBA, and Cook. Of course we can't get Glendon Rusch!
  7. Some pretty ugly at bats tonight. Thankfully, we're back home in a few days (can anyone confirm we'll be facing Francis, Hirsh, and Cook).
  8. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) The injury to Jurrjens is unreal. It's been happening all season....they continue to have guys injured when they face them. Is Glavine ok? Some speculation it's a career-ending injury. This Braves team will likely finish in 4th place in the NL East.
  9. 12 outs made in the air tonight
  10. We've done a good job in these situations lately at least getting the tying run to the plate.
  11. If Sox go on to lose this game, tomorrow's game might be the biggest game of the season so far.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 01:11 AM) Like Jose yesterday, Javy's got nothin'. He seems to have pitched much better than his near 4 ERA this season would dictate.
  13. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ Jun 12, 2008 -> 12:47 AM) Well pretty much everything has gone wrong thus far. Unfortunately Detroit is talented and is due some breaks, they seem to be getting them. Vazquez couldn't put Cabrera away and then our Cabrera wasn't expecting the throw from Ramirez. A good at bat by Miguel Cabrera and a not so good non execution by Orlando Cabrera. Also a bad mistake to Marcus Thames, who seems to be looking for that rolling breaking ball. Detroit can hit, no question about it. You have to think they'll pick it up as the season goes on.
  14. No surprise...they'll probably face some old Cubs lefty like Paul Kilgus. Tomorrow's game will be rained out with Hudson supposed to face them.
  15. KC's manager, Hillman, is one of the worst managers to ever be involved with Major League Baseball. I've never seen someone so unprepared for situations when he might need to get a reliever up in the pen. Of course, he's the same guy who chose Gobble to pitch to PK (OPS of 1 billion) instead of the righty Peralta.
  16. Wow, Cubs get 4 gift runs after Acosta drops a grounder right back to him. At least Hudson is going on Thursday.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) This game really sucks. Celtics better thank whatever god they pray to that they're only down 6. They've looked like the 2008 Bulls so far. These playoffs just aren't connecting with me. I was so excited when they started...and now I could hardly care.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 03:26 AM) The goal for the rest of the month is to put enough distance between the Indians and the Tigers that they think sell. I want to break their will, and have them consider rebuilding for next year. Crushing them now will give us more cushion for the rest of the year. Great thought
  19. I wanted to complain about the umpire....but then I found out it was Doug Eddings.
  20. Really bad managing by Piniella in letting Howry stay in to face the lefty McCann. Eyre definitely should have been in. Braves need one more hit to tie this up.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 03:06 AM) I think this year's Sox-Cub series will tell us a lot about the Sox. The games are rare regular season games that will have playoffs/WS intensity, though the Cubs don't know what WS intensity is. With the first games in Wrigley, we're going to be challenged. Hope our pitchers avoid the gopher ball and our big guys hit a batch of homers. I wonder how many combined World Series appearances the Sox roster has compared to the Cubs? I know Soriano was in the WS, as was D. Lee, Edmonds, ?
  22. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 02:04 AM) I'll bet you were ecstatic when he beat the Cubs for his 300th win. I was on a cruise at the time on my honeymoon.
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 11, 2008 -> 02:03 AM) Are any of these guys legitimate prospects? Not really
  24. Anyone know how serious the Pujols injury is from tonight? Cardinals just being decimated with injuries, especially with their ace out now also.
