  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) So Bonser pitches over his head, the ump squeezes Floyd, we get bad bounces, and barely miss tying the game by 6 in. I hate this s***. Was Floyd really squeezed though? Their runs came off of a great piece of hitting by Cuddyer, a bad fastball to Kubel, and then s***ty defense by Overrated Cabrera.
  2. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:26 AM) If he does , he should be fired. I did not like when we got him , but to resign him is a bad move. His bat speed is going to get worse, as he's in his mid 30s now. His arm is reaching Eckstein like territory.
  3. Damn, that was really close. Terrible base running by Swisher, but the base running has been fine this year.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:23 AM) legendary league dope dealer reyes in.... Really, never heard that one. Please PM me the details. I do know Manny Alexander was a notorious supplier.
  5. Thome vs lefty reliever in the 8th.....surprise me Jim.
  6. What the hell was that OC? It looks like he was taking no matter what. At least we're one more game closer to you leaving.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) The ball was in front of the runner. If Cabrera squares his shoulders when fielding that ball, he's got Punto. He doesn't have the arm to make that play. That's not even meant as a negative comment. We really were spoiled with Uribe's cannon at that position.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) I think we've been hitting pretty well, but just not at the right time. We're getting lead-off men on, whether with singles or with walks, but we can't do anythign after that. I don't remember the last time we hit a double. Couldn't agree more about the doubles comment.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:13 AM) Situational hitting. We could use some. We just need more hits. Walks is great and all, but unless you have Quentin getting HBP with the bases loaded, you need to be able to drive runs in. I would bet we lead the league in fewest amounts of hits that scored runs in the past 3 seasons that weren't homers.
  10. Uribe's hit the ball well a few times tonight.
  11. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:03 AM) The book is out on the Chicago White Sox offense. Throw off-speed pitches, and you'll absolutely DOMINATE this lineup. P e r i o d . How can anyone argue it, seriously. Andy Sonnanstine, Boof Bonser, Mike Mussina, etc. That's interesting, as you look at the guys we've hit well lately, and we did it on the fastball....Niemann, E. Jackson, Ohlendorf
  12. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:02 AM) WTF was that by Q? This entire team looks like they couldn't give a s***. Terrible. The curse of yesterday's game.
  13. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:01 AM) thats as bad as an AB from carlos as weve seen maybe all year.... the chamberlain AB was bad too And he had a terrible one vs Street. You know he's been good when we can remember those so clearly.
  14. 7 walks, fastball down to 84 mph. I hate you Ned Yost!
  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) yep....hes done a great job at keeping us in games when he hasnt pitched his best...ive been cautious in getting excited about gavin..but he has shown a 4 plus pitches..if like fathom said, he can command his fastball hes gonna be pretty good He's 10 times better than I thought he'd be this season.
  16. The next step for Gavin is to get better command of his fastball. He's making a lot of hitters miss on his offspeed stuff.
  17. You know, at least we started off well so there's still excitement in late, close games. The last week was a lot of fun, and hopefully it continues.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) my memory escapes me, but i thought we hit well in the secodn half too....at least i remember thinking we only lost cuz buerhle and contreras were horrendous...but you could be correct...i just remember dye konerko and thome were all very very good and crede had his silver slugger year No, the offense went awry in the 2nd half. Thome had some wrist issues, and he was unable to turn on the ball. JD was awesome, of course. I'm pretty sure Crede sucked big time the last month as well.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:43 AM) we raked in 2006... For the first half, we were awesome.
  20. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:37 AM) I saw two really s***ty ABs with RISP yesterday. AJ truly is the type of guy who can change the mindset of a clubhouse.
  21. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:37 AM) he's lazy Says?
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:36 AM) Greg Walker's seat has to be getting hotter. It seems none of the hitters are up there with a plan except to try and go yard. If he wasn't fired last year, he won't be fired unless this team is 14 and 30.
  23. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:34 AM) lets at least wait until we're out of first place for these. first place is kind of the point. EDIT: and jon garland is his usual not so great self still. For the one millionth time, I don't give a s*** how Garland does. It's all about what type of package we could have received for him. As of now, it's been a massive flop. Terrible offense and terrible defense from a one year rental.
