  1. Nice line drive swing....Anderson could have driven that to right center, but tries to pull it instead. FIRE GREG WALKER!
  2. Ozzie just playing right into Tampa's plans...much like last night.
  3. Ugh, he just missed that.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 12:51 AM) Even if it works, swapping out our hottest hitter for an ice cold one for matchup sake is just ugly to me. Miller's been dominant against lefty hitters this year.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2008 -> 11:29 PM) Seriously though, have you guys looked at some of the numbers being put up by the pitchers in the AL this year? There are 9 guys right now with ERA's below 3. (Just in the starters) Are home run numbers down? You have to wonder if this will be the trend in a new era of baseball.
  6. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 12:29 AM) That might be a lot to ask for our offense to overcome, 1 run is a great day these days, 2 runs is a superstar effort with the entire offense clicking. It's getting tiring hoping for this offense to finally catch a spark. They have to start scoring 5 runs a game for this team to consistently win. I'll say it again....fire Greg Walker!
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 12:25 AM) Crede tagged that ball Did he really? Yahoo didn't even say it was a deep fly out.
  8. Well on our way to another single digit 4 game road series.
  9. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 12:05 AM) Crappy play by Quentin. What happened?
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 31, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) 51 pitches for Kazmir through 3. They may not be hitting him but so far they're at least making him work. Yawn...this offense is so boring.
  11. That is true, we're not seeing 10 broken bats a week for him. I still think he need to get closer to the plate.
  12. QUOTE (Nokona @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) HIS POWER NUMBERS ARE DOWN BECAUSE HE CANT HIT THE BALL. STEROIDS /= PITCH RECOGNITION he's all over the place with his bat speed He leads the Sox in warning track fly outs. The Swisher I remember from his Oakland days could hit it out to every different direction.
  13. Awkward moment between Buck and McCarver. They were talking about Mariah Carey's first pitch, and McCarver goes "great boots"! He mumbled it a little, and sounded like he said boobs. Buck was quiet for about a minute.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) I agree its a good hitting conference. Weeks is freaking good. He's going to go in the teens to twenties in the draft and make a team quite happy. I'm going to be happy next year when the Sox probably have a few more 1st/2nd round picks (it will go a long way to restocking the system). The key this year will be for the Sox to get the best value on the board throughout the draft (and that means going above slot, which they won't do, but they should plan on it, especially given the absolute crap in the current farm system). Weeks reminds me of Ray Durham.
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 31, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) Is it raining by you today? What is with the 500 word posts? This is like the third one. He's watching the Miami freshman and pondering how we can get a top pick in the 2010 draft.
  16. As of yesterday, the Rays are leaning towards taking T. Beckham.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 31, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) The stud Freshman Hernandez pitches past this double. God this guy is good. Great command for a freshman. No kidding, amazing numbers for a freshman in such a good hitting conference.
  18. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) Cabrera SS Ramirez 2B Quentin LF Dye RF Konerko DH Crede 3B Hall C Anderson CF Swisher 1B Good lineup!
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 31, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) I think with Uribe back and Ramirez hitting better, you will see Ramirez play CF again. Agreed
  20. My favorite former PED user is on fox today. That player would be Fernando Tatis. He's sooooo skinny now.
  21. Pablo owns Kazmir. He's 1-1 with a double and a broken bone in his career against him.
  22. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ May 31, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) It's one big giant conspiracy I tell you. My God, it's the last day in May, tune down the angst. Lots of things can and probably will happen. One thing that typing that out made me realize is just how many shortstops have gotten injured this season in the NL. Also, I just heard on Fox that the Dodgers and Furcal were getting close to a contract extension prior to his injury. I had not heard they were even negotiating.
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) granderson, carmona (but laffey has been better anyways), howie kendrick, aybar, Good call on Granderson. It does stink we faced Posada, and he did very well in the series vs the Sox. Then, he goes on the DL a few days later.
  24. QUOTE (29andPoplar @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:28 PM) It's one big giant conspiracy I tell you. My God, it's the last day in May, tune down the angst. Lots of things can and probably will happen. or maybe we're just talking about the horrible depth in the NL. As Daa brought up, when Glendon Rusch and Jason Grilli are pitching in the same game, it better be in the Independent League.
  25. How about who's been missing from teams when they played them: Phillies- Rollins Dbacks- Hudson Rockies- Holliday, Hawpe, Tulo Pirates- Jack Wilson Dodgers- Furcal, Jeff Kent Mets- Alou Nats- D. Young I'm trying to think who's been missing from teams the Sox played, and the only guy I can really think of is ARod and Cuddyer. Hafner and Sexson were out, but those guys aren't anything special now.
