  1. Quite a pathetic inning. I hope Greg Walker didn't break his hand patting himself on the back. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) I love it when our high priced sluggers take pitches for strike 3. You must have missed the memo where he said it's ok if he strikes out a lot.
  2. Dye with two great pitches to hit that AB. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:34 AM) Good to see the Fire Walker thread got bumped up. As if this game is not a reminder enough that our offense is not cured because of 3 games. Colby Lewis = cure for every hitting coach. In all honesty, we're going to see 3 really tough pitchers in our next 4 games.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:29 AM) You would think with all of the thumpers on our team, that we would take pitches better. I mean if we could see half the pitches that the As see, we would have something. We don't have a team with a lot of patient hitters though. It's amazing how bad Crede is at drawing walks, at this point in his career. Erstad, for all the pitches he sees, doesn't walk often either.
  4. What a bad throw by Erstad. Just par for the outfield, it seems.
  5. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:19 AM) we better hold them to one because it's tough to see us scoring more than two. maybe greg walker shouldn't have done that pre-game interview. What did Walker have to say? Was it as entertaining as Cooper saying how good the bullpen is throwing before yesterday's game? This is the most pitches up in the zone I've seen from Garland in a long time. This has the feel of the last Royals game where we were going for the sweep. Here comes the Yaz talk!
  6. Ozzie really has to move Iguchi back down to the 8 or 9 spot in the order. With Thome back, we can't afford a non-existent #2 hitter.
  7. Gaudin's only allowed 5 homers in the last 120 innings or so he's pitched.
  8. Another liner at an infielder....Oakland has a ton of those this series.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:05 AM) The bats will wake up. remember, NOBODY has been hitting this guy. Besides Cleveland....but their offense is awesome. Nice catch by Iguchi!!
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:04 AM) So much for the offense being fixed. Johan on Monday should be funny. I'm not excited about facing Shields and Kazmir this weekend. I believe we'll get Santana on Monday, and we'll also see Burnett in Toronto (his stuff has been filthy lately).
  11. Seems like Oakland has 12 defenders out there right now.
  12. That ball was destroyed foul by Johnson.
  13. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:51 AM) when did Chad Gaudin become Catfish Hunter? We're having better at-bats so far tonight than we did against him in April. Hopefully we can score some runs against him, but I don't like Garland's chances of keeping the A's to below 3 runs.
  14. Well, that's just f***ing stupid. Two bad base running plays so far in 4 plays....not a good percentage.
  15. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:39 AM) nice arm on cintron. hurts to watch him throw. I was thinking we might need a cut-off man on any throws from him.
  16. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:33 AM) What started off looking good turned out like s***. Great job offense! Iguchi at least made a hard out for once. Ozzie needs to be more aggressive today, as Gaudin is basically impossible to homer against. Erstad misreading that fly ball might have cost us a run. Scutaro is now 8-11 vs Garland. Garland better start pitching inside.
  17. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) Can someone buy Hawk a new pair of glasses? That wasn't even REMOTELY close. Close enough for the greatest base runner ever to not tag.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:30 AM) grindy Up to the lefty hitters to provide offense tonight.
  19. Could have been worse....defensive positioning hurt Garland more than anything else that inning. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:26 AM) that was terrible terrible alignment Very similar to that Kendall AB a few years ago where we gave him basically the entire right side of the infield. With Konerko holding on the runner with Crosby up, there's no excuse for that positioning.
  20. What in the hell is going on with our positioning? If you're going to keep pitching players away, then why are you shading up the middle?
  21. Great pitch by Garland on the 3-2 pitch. Crosby is a dangerous hitter against Garland in the past.
  22. Holy cow, has anyone seen the OPS for Chone Figgins this year?
