QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 12:24 AM) Thornton up in the pen for the Sox. Good, Gavin looked a little tired last inning. I'm sure he was throwing with a lot of adrenaline to start the game, and that will zap your stamina.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) uribe's lack of run production and low average drawing a lot of attention away from Thome's really really low batting average, he's hitting .180 as of right now lol lack of attention? You must have missed the talk of him getting moved down in the order the other day.

Floyd's going to have to get out of this inning using his offspeed stuff. He hasn't thrown a fastball for a strike this inning.

Everything is up this inning by Floyd. His pitches don't have the same zip.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:05 AM) gavin out of the stretch, falls behind 3-1 hmmmmmmm Considering how hard he has to focus on his mechanics, this is something that I'm sure will improve as he matures.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:01 AM) very good job by randy marsh behind the plate so far...normally i bash the umpires in here, so im gonna give some credit...hes been solid back there I was hoping Swisher would get the 3-1 call, but I agree, he's been good. He's given Thome some pitches that looked like blatant strikes.

QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) Wow, Mr Positive true to his form Obviously, the fact that we had no choice at that pont but to re-sign Uribe is lost on an ignoramus like you; the fact that Cabrera was available after Uribe was re-signed; and the fact that Kenny did what he had to do to get OCab; Uribe is a back up IF or a #9 batter with very good D at 2B for us....not the end of the world; unless it is you of course I just think it's early to start knighting Sir Kenny Williams. Uribe is not a back up infielder though....he's our starting 2nd baseman.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 12:50 AM) im pretty impressed with guthrie...hes got a good arm and seems like he knows how to pitch I'm worried he's going to plunk one of our hitters on the wrist.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) filthy curve.... lol gary thorne...."miguel tejada hit a HR in a losing effort as he celebrated 2 birthdays today" How fitting that Carlos Lee and Miguel Tejada hit solo homers in a 10-2 game.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) I like that. For you guys that used to pitch...did ya ever have a catcher that for some reason his glove never popped. Whether it was the glove or how he caught it. I threw fairly hard...and it used to piss me off when I knew I was throwing hard and the glove didn't pop. Oh ya...it was such a confidence boost when the mitt would pop a lot.

Gavin's fastball seems much more crisp, especially thanks to the audio behind home plate.
