Great play by Crede saves at least one run.

When's Ozzie going to give Thome a break against LHP?

Tyshawn Taylor officially wants out of his LOI with Marquette. It doesn't seem like Williams made a good impression.

Yesterday's Cardinals game said Ankiel homered to the catcher.

QUOTE (CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) That's just looking at things through black-and-white shaded specs. Their offense will be one of the best in the NL and they have the makings of a great bullpen. Their rotation may be a bit shaky but again, what team in the NL doesn't have holes? They have more than enough talent to be the top team in the NL Central. Like you said, the NL is so bad, there's only 2 or 3 teams that you figure will definitely be good. Piniella is managing his starting rotation very aggressively, and you wonder if that will hurt his bullpen in the long run. The Phillies deserved to lose today, as bringing in Romero to face Soto instead of Gordon against Pie is just awful managing.

Utley misses a game tying homer by a foot, and the Phillies eventually lose. Cubs are playing just awful right now, and somehow still have a winning record.

BTW, Bob Brenly had the dumbest comment by an announcer this year. He said the Cubs would rather have the lower part of the order up in extra innings instead of Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez.

Cubs are back to getting so many bad defensive plays made against them. How many unearned runs have they scored this week? Unreal!

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 06:49 PM) Fathom, Do you at all seem to think that Quentin tries to hit too many homers? It just doesn't seem like he ever hits any line drives...all pop ups and ground balls. Not that he doesn't hit the ball hard, but just doesn't seem to hit too many liners...his swing seems a bit loopy to me. I've seen quite a few liners by him between the 3rd baseman and shortstop. I was told yesterday that he's still not completely healthy, and that as his shoulder improves, he'll get more bat speed.

Nice rip by Crede, just right at Jones. I think Quentin will do a lot of damage vs Rogers, as his pitch speed is perfect for his swing.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 07:36 PM) watching the cubs game adn the whtie sox game i suspect Ha, yes. I forgot how much Geoff Jenkins sucks. I was laughing how both Chicago teams are facing old lefty starters.

I loved how patient Cabrera was against Moyer. However, why play Thome today? He's been struggling so much, he's struggled in his career against Rogers, and he's played in every game this year.

I still contend Santana is on the decline. His home run totals last year were alarming, and they've continued to be high so far this year.

Even I'll struggle to find something negative to say about this game.

I'd like to see Ozzie put Anderson in the game for Dye or Swisher. With the wet field, you don't want to risk injury.

QUOTE (PoopsThompson @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) Also Linebrink's pitch count is at 2. I'm pretty sure he comes in to pitch the 9th. Now you let Thornton pitch. This has been a fantastic game.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) Let Linebrink pitch the ninth? Or turn it over to maybe someone like Mac or Thornton? Go with Jenks. No way do you bring in MacDougal.
