White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) Unfortunately the 2007 version of Konerko is not the October 2005 version of Konerko. That's Thome's second 2-RBI single against Miller. He also has a walk in his 4 career PA's against him No one has ever accused Garner of being a good manager.

Stay back on those sliders.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) Thank you Garner for being a complete idiot. All they had to do was set up Konerko for the DP. I can't blame them though. Thome's been real bad vs lefties....and I'm sure he doesn't have good memories of PK vs Qualls with them loaded.

THOME!!!! That a boy! The legend of Buckvich.

Thome....prove to me you can be clutch!

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) They would just walk Thome and we would get a Paulie DP. I'll take my chances with Konerko against Qualls with the bases loaded. They're going to face Thome here. If not, they would have brought in Qualls to face Iguchi. I love playing not to lose!

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
Unreal....we're playing right into their hands by putting Thome in a situation where he has to hit a lefty.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
If Ozzie has Iguchi bunt here, I'm going to punch him.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) I would totally buy his jersey at the end of the regular season if somehow Bukvich was responsible for the Sox's success. Have you ever seen anyone wear a Geoff Blum jersey with the Sox (besides for Geoff).

I'd add to that: Josh Fields defense, and Jermain Dye's expiring contract.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
The fact that Prinz and Buckvich are on the major league roster is such a pathetic showcase of this organization.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) Oh well. They won't win today. There's always tomorrow. Once you realize that they have no shot at contending this year and stop paying attention to the standings, each individual loss isn't as bad. Yes, it's much easier to take the losses now. I'm more upset with the idea that we're not going to sell off the players that need to go. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) Thypical Thom. Rip the hell out of a player before knowing the entire situation. I think I'm the only one that likes him, but that's because he did the amazing Boise St/Oklahoma game. Can Buckvich allow two slams in two appearances?

Kenny Williams' phone
Teams want MacDougal because he has a good contract and they think they can make him their closer for the next few years. I'm sure a team like the Tigers or Indians would love to make him their set-up man. MacDougal's mechanics were all screwed up, especially his stride. He also got away from his bread and butter, which was throwing about 80 pct sliders. His fastball has never been an out pitch, no matter how hard he throws.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) If the ownership won't get rid of the batting coach during times like this, why would they get rid of the only guy showing frustration and giving a damn? This is the best post of the last month.

Another miserable throw by an outfielder.

FWIW, this is terrible managing by Garner.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) The entire minor league system seems to be nothing but career AAA guys. It's been that way for the last 5 years.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:10 PM) Well, before I left we were down 1-0. We're still down 1-0 but in about 3 minutes it will be 4-0 and we will have lost our, what, 5th straight game? Wow, f*** this team. There isn't a single player I would care about if they were traded, cut, retired, etc/etc (except Brian Anderson). I'd rather be a Royals fan. f***, we're almost behind them in the standings. Do yourself and us a favor and just take a break from this board/team.

Hey Santo....would you disagree with me if I said this Sox team would finish in a dogfight for 3rd in the NL Central this year with the Cards and Astros? QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) What, did Garlands pitch count get too high? Isn't it time for Ozzie to say "f' the pitch count" or whatever the heck makes him take out the starters (if it isn't giving up runs)? Garland threw a lot of pitches last game, so I'm happy they pulled him after 7. It wasn't exactly a stress free game for Garland. I'd rather not blow his arm out for such a pathetic team.

Lance Berkman has zero extra base hits against lefty pitchers this year. That's 11 extra base hits against righties now.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
Hey Kenny....you really f***ed up this offseason. Oh Ozzie....you really suck also! Thankfully, you'll always have your supporters though.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/9/07 (L)
Unreal....I just love these AAA pitchers. If you're going to lose, at least let it be Thornton who's responsible, especially since Berkman is so much better as a lefty than a righty. Ozzie just never ceases to impress me.

We need the rally jphat! BTW, if we lose today, I'm taking responsibility for the game thread tomorrow. It's time for Mr. Optimism.

At least Tito will be happy. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Schuerholz shook him. Even Dave Littlefield one upped him by dumping most of Kendall's contract on him. I love the stat about who the Pirates highest paid player is this year.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) Last years Flubs. The Mariners have been high in payroll the past couple of years. The Mets a few years ago Christ, that was off the top of my head. So does Greg Walker think there are no ways to improve Uribe's swing? What a joke. I was thinking more of the Orioles a few years ago. And yes, Walker should be fired and Uribe needs a total makeover at the plate. Either that, or get him back on the juice.
