White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
Haha....this team is so f***ing bad. If the Sox get swept this weekend, is there any chance that someone gets fired?

PK having a ton of trouble this year with the 3-2 offspeed pitch. He's 1-19 this year now with a full count. That's freaking pathetic.

This team has to stop making losing look so easy. It's a historic day....it's the first time that Hawk used this line: "this is the most talented offensive team I've ever seen struggle for this long". Stop swinging at the first pitch Thome.

Danks about to walk Scott before Lee. They really need to work on his mechanics to keep him from flying open and then falling off the mound. Ha, even when we get a good throw, we still can't get the guy out. AJ must really suck at those plays. He needs to stay closer to the plate.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 01:24 AM) Why? He couldn't have made the NFL. He probably couldn't have made the AFL or CFL. He made it to the major leagues in baseball. He may not be any good, but he made it. I know, it was just a joke. It's funny to see how good Pence is though compared to our prospects. Last year, Fields was rated in the same range as him.

Mackowiak continues to have good at-bats. Owens continues to show he should have stuck with football. We've always talked over the last few years about just how bad our prospects play when they get called up. The sad thing is that it's been 5 times worse this year than in previous years. Hell, at least Borchard would hit an occasional homer.

Good effort by Terrero....Dye would have had no chance at that. I wonder if Danks is going through a dead arm period...his fastball is down right now.

It shocks me that they're not telling Danks to watch his follow-thru.

That Carlos Lee sucks. All he does is swing for the fences.

QUOTE(PoopsThompson @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 01:02 AM) While I agree that he just isn't cutting it, what other options does this team truly have? Mackowiak should be leading off. He's giving this team some good at-bats. Put Terrero in CF when Dye is healthy.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 12:44 AM) The way the lineup has handled Sampson thus far, even with their offensive troubles, if less than five runs are across the board I'll be shocked. Nearly every out has been crushed. You're giving our offense way too much credit to actually stay consistent during a game. We still have a couple of double plays in crucial situations to hit into. Why in the world do we keep having Owens leadoff? Ozzie and KW have to be the only two people in baseball who think he should start in the majors.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 12:52 AM) What is the White Sox bullpen doing in Atlanta? Lance Cormier is the worst pitcher I've seen in the majors this year.

Another start where Danks has little command. Soriano has 3 homers thru 4 innings. It must be nice to have the money to go out and get the top free agents.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
How impressive would it be if Owens played 162 games and didn't draw a single walk?

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
Uribe's in one of those stretches that makes you wonder how they don't try and change his style.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
Danks really seems to be falling off the mound on his delivery more than usual. His control has been off the last few starts, and I think that could be why.

The Reason This Team is Bad, and Yes: It's Ozzie's Fault
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) are you suggesting that a managerial change is going to turn this season around? I don't think things could be going worse right now, and Ozzie's done nothing to spark this team. He talks a big game in the press, but where are all these changes?

Merkin and the Crew Have a Little Fun
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 05:04 AM) That's not what he said. I could have sworn that he said he was going to make some changes and manage differently because these guys weren't having enough fun on the field.

Merkin and the Crew Have a Little Fun
QUOTE(max power @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:57 AM) I thought ozzie was to blame because the sox aren't having any fun? Well, he was the person who yesterday said he was going to make some changes so the guys would have fun.

And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:31 AM) So, who projects to be @ the top of next year's draft? Whoever it is, it won't be a Boras player. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:32 AM) Yeah, it does suck. But it is the baseball cycle. No team can be like the Yanks, being a power house from generation to generation. The thing that gets me upset the most is not how the team sucks so bad, but how our GM is a stubborn mule who refuses to admit if he has ever made a wrong move or anything like that and try and fix it. I am getting sick of hearing the same underachieving speech KW gives everytime he talks to the media. The thing that would make me the happiest would see KW finally realizing he f***ed up and start a somewhat rebuilding process. Be patient....KW would look like an even bigger idiot if he publically came out and bashed this team's personnel. If this losing keeps up, we'll be sellers.

Carlos Lee
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 04:28 AM) He put up great stats, but he was only about stats. You would never hear anything good about him in the club house and such. All the clubhouse stuff came out after we traded him. Quite the shocker coming from our organization.
-
Carlos Lee
Pods is immune from running thru the base. He also takes his jolly ole time getting to the ball in the outfield. Maybe it's me, but I have no problem with a batter admiring his homer. 99 pct of the time, it's going to be out of the park.

And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(premo @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:45 AM) Doesn't every team still have to have at least one player on the All Star team? Who's going to be our "All Star"...and I use that term loosely Jenks

Carlos Lee
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:44 AM) He should get booed. He was a lazy hotdog. Him getting traded was a great day. Such irony here. He was one of the 5 best hitters in the Sox organization over the last 20 years. Pods is just as lazy as he is....with 1/1000000th of the talent.

White Sox vs Yankees, 6/7/07 (L)
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:41 AM) I truly believe the worst-case scenario these next few weeks would be for the White Sox to perform well against the National League, and perhaps give management the illusion this team has turned itself around. Then there's the possibility Williams resists trading Buehrle or anyone else. It makes losing SO MUCH EASIER. I'll make the prediction now that this Yankees team ends the season 7 games better than the Sox.
