  1. Gavin Floyd just has no prayer against lefties. It looks like he throws a hanging fastball.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:36 AM) We were wondering in the chat, has anyone seen jphat around here lately? It sure seems coincidental he hasn't posted since it became obvious this season is over. Hmmmm. No jphat sightings...I hope he's ok, all jokes aside.
  3. When I saw him during ST, his fastball was at 89 mph.
  4. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:30 AM) What pitches does Gio have, and how hard does he throw? I'm sure his fastball is at 89 mph.
  5. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:29 AM) Wow...this night just keeps getting better. I think this team is just frustrated now. SHaping up to be the worst season since 1994 or 1989. There's that plague lurking right now as well.
  6. I wonder if they'll consider Gio for Jose's next start.
  7. Looks like Gavin is throwing his fastball around 89 mph now....shocking!
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:13 AM) How about the Brewers... Finally something we can both agree on.
  9. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:04 AM) <!--quoteo(post=1481723:date=Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:59 PM:name=fathom)-->QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:59 PM) <!--quotec-->I do, but if he stays hot the rest of the year, he'll get a big contract from someone. I'd rather he stay in the .230 range, hit 25 homers, and we get him at a good rate. Yeah - hopefully we can lock him up in the next week or so. Assuming we don't what do you think the max he fetches in the offseason in yrs and dollars? No clue, but he's going to want 3 or 4 years.
  10. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 12:58 AM) <!--quoteo(post=1481713:date=Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:56 PM:name=fathom)-->QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:56 PM) <!--quotec-->That was an amazing play by Dye....hope he's OK. It's weird about how to react towards him now, as I'm not sure if he want him to do good. I thought you want to resign him and get rid of Pods/Erstad in the offseason? I do, but if he stays hot the rest of the year, he'll get a big contract from someone. I'd rather he stay in the .230 range, hit 25 homers, and we get him at a good rate.

  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 12:44 AM) I'm sorry, you must have known he was going to be great since the day he was born. Please. There hasn't been a day in the last month where I haven't heard the same line from you regarding different players. What in the world are you referring to? That's funny, because I've been less active on this site over the last few weeks than any time during the last three years.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 12:43 AM) Not exactly. He's on a roll right now.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 12:41 AM) Big whoop. He hit Charles Haeger. Give it a rest. Yep, I hate 22 year old players who put up an OPS over .750 and switch hit. How about you give it a rest, and stop trying to negate every post someone makes?
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 12:39 AM) No he hasn't. He's having a better statistical season than 05. Who the hell cares about batting average as a stat? His slugging was much better in 2005.
  16. I still love the people on here who thought Melky would be a terrible acquisition in a trade. Trade proposals bring out the worst in people on this site.
  17. Good grief, Uribe's defense is so bad this year. And I totally forgot that AJ's last homer this year was the slam vs the Cubs. He's had such a bad year as well.
  18. What a nightmare of a day.
  19. QUOTE(frankie5angels @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) Maybe Jose will just quit, after being embarassed start after start. This better be his last start for a while.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) I have no evidence that they do. They do, it's pretty common knowledge.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) Jose absolutely blows ass. He's on pace to have one of the worst seasons in Sox history for a full-time starting pitcher.
  22. Just DL him for the season. What a pathetic day for the White Sox.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) God forbid a player be sentimental about a team he not only worked for, but loved. :rolleyes. I always thought it was awesome that he was at Game 2 of the WS going nuts at the Cell.
  24. Yep, the Dye situation isn't even close to being the biggest issue that just impacted the Sox. We were unable to even get rid of half of Jose's remaining contract. I hope it was worth it leaving him in to get destroyed late in games over the last month. I predict he gives up at least 7 runs tonight if he lasts 5 innings.
  25. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) ETA: One thing I do definitely blame KW for and agree with you on is the LF/CF situation this year. That was, far and away, his biggest screw-up. and the bullpen (also known as the two spots where everyone knew KW had to upgrade). Not only that, but the prospects for next season look even worse than this year. It's conceivable that the only way we can compete next year is if we spend a fortune in the FA market.
