  1. Wow, very nice at-bat for Iguchi. It's very strange how much better he looks with someone on base.
  2. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) He's done it with minor leaguers. Guerrier and Reed. Olivo was having his best season in 2004. Yeah, but we were talking about guys in the majors. You know I was clamoring for him to trade either Cotts or Politte after 2005. Either of those guys could have brought us in great value.
  3. Mackowiak should be the leadoff hitter. Hell, put Thome as the leadoff hitter. It's not like there's guys on base when he's up anyways.
  4. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:44 AM) Yeah, I can imagine the season ticket holders reacting well to the trades of Konerko, Iguchi, Crede and Dye coming into this season. The only thing are season ticket holders care about is winning. I'm sure that number will go down drastically next year. This might not be something KW understands, but when you trade a good veteran player, you should get MLB ready talent in return.
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:43 AM) just out of curiosity, at this time, are we the worst team in baseball? The Sox and the Reds are the two worst teams I've seen over the last couple of wins. Both teams make winning seem very hard, and losing seems to happen no matter what.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) I do think its time that when a guy who has mostly sucked his entire career comes up with a good season to maybe lower the expectations the following season. See Loaisa, Cotts, Politte, now Thornton. That would require the Sox trading someone at peak value. That's a foreign idea to KW.
  7. Thornton's problem is that he has absolutely no offspeed pitch. What exactly does Cooper do to teach these guys anything other than throwing a fastball at less than 100 pct ability? How come we never hear a story about a pitcher developing a new pitch? QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:39 AM) We will be 9.0 GB after this game. This is a blessing, it really is. Even DJ sounds like he's surrendering.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:36 AM) I mentioned his name early and completely forgot he was available. He must have an attitude problem. Watching Thornton pitch really makes me confident that Cooper can teach these pitchers we drafted offspeed pitches.
  9. We'll be hearing about how the wind cost us this game for this entire weekend.
  10. I'd love to know the stat of the on base percentage for the first guy our bullpen members face. It seems like they always let the first guy get on they face.
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:33 AM) Thornton = blown save machine. And Abreu is a f***ING SOX KILLER!!!!! Why isn't Logan our lefty specialist?
  12. Good pitch selection. How many inside fastballs can we try to throw to the same batter?
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:30 AM) He gave up an infield hit!! Come on....we suck, and Ozzie has minimal say in the matter. I wanted Contreras out mostly due to the easy chance Jeter had to steal. From the times I've seen Cabrera bat, he is much more comfortable batting lefty.
  14. Good job by Contreras tonight...still not sure how he retires big league hitters. Unfortunately, Ozzie left him in one batter too long.
  15. If AJP isn't lazy, that's a force out at 2nd base.
  16. Pretty bad effort by AJ to block that. Good grief....get Contreras out of the freaking game.
  17. Cabrera is much more dangerous against righties. Better make some good pitches.
  18. Ok good...now get in the lefty to prevent the steal.
  19. Nice to know Thornton's warming up....I hope there's a reason he's not in the game now.
  20. Pull Contreras now! That walk is going to turn into a double quickly. Where is Matt Thornton or Boone Logan?
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:09 AM) They're injured enough to play, have egos and the truth is -- what options do we have for most of these guys? Well, if they're not going to say they're injured, then Ozzie needs to be able to figure that out. How many times have we heard Ozzie say that a player hasn't told them that they were injured? It's happened too much.
  22. Please...please...please....end the Cintron experience!
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 02:14 AM) Didn't help himself by getting in a hole by going up there trying to bunt. Don't get me started on that.
  24. Wow, can't hit the ball much harder than that.
  25. He seems to get so antsy when he gets called up. You could tell how little confidence he had, as he was looking at the 3rd base coach for signs prior to the 2-2 pitch.
