Can we please send this buster back to the minors? He's such a waste of a roster spot.

It's sickening to see Anderson's mechanics.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:11 AM) More annoying; Erstad's weak grounders, or Crede's popups? Erstad's grounders. At least when Crede gets on track, those same swings are going to produce 25 homers.

Big hit Juan!! Bannister has nothing right now....nice to get 2 out RBI.

Crede with some meatballs to hit, and hits his 1000th pop up of the season.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:05 AM) Aren't you the same guy who b****es that nobody runs down the line for the Sox hard? His hustle is the only thing he does particularly well besides D. Appreciate it. His hustle this year has been poor. In his limited time, he seems almost too relaxed out there. I hate to break it to Brian, but he's never going to get a lot of playing time unless he plays well.

Haha...that was a dangerous play.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:03 AM) If he hits like this all season and Ozzie gets him those at bats he should be committed. It's just scary reading Ozzie's quotes about Erstad.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:02 AM) So what you're saying is...you wish he'd grind...more...? I've been unimpressed by his hustle.

Even on that routine fly ball, Anderson was too lazy to get behind it in case Sanders tried to go to 3rd base. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:00 AM) Its one thing to insist Erstad be in the line-up everyday. Its more puzzling why OG insists on leading him off. This will be the big question of 2007....it's sad that he will get 6 million from us if he gets 600 ABs. That's not exactly where I want the Buehrle/Dye money going to.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:59 AM) So when did we dip Timo in white paint. This is the worst DH on our team since we graced New York with OMIT as our DH batting close to 200. I'm more concerned with Thome possibly having a minor injury.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:52 AM) To my eyes, we have 4-5 potential OF's in our system. Fields, Sweeney, Anderson, and Owens...5 if you count Terrero. I'm going to be really disappointed if we can't find a way to get at least 2 of them into the lineup as starters next year...because that means that the Young trade looks even worse, and our Minor league system has really decided to start screwing up talented people. Jerry Owens won't be a starter in the majors. At best, he's a 5th outfielder. I was told last week that Fields will be a 3B for the Sox during his career....I took that to mean Crede is gone after this year or next.

QUOTE(CryptviLL @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) BTW i want to commend ozzie on placing anderson in CF and not putting him at DH with erstad @ cf. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but you never know with the way ozzie's mind thinks. He made the right move today with that. No offense, but I'm not going to commend him for s*** with putting Erstad at the DH spot. It's amazing how integral to this team Ozzie thinks Erstad is. This is a pretty brutal lineup we have tonight, and we really need to get another offensive option on the bench. Send down Logan, call up an offensive player.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:44 AM) How many will be testing Toby Hall's shoulder when he comes back early? Does it really matter who we have back there? Let Toby catch with Buehrle on the mound, and hope he can keep guys from stealing with his move. Fantastic catch by Anderson!

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:42 AM) Wait, he can't go 200+ IP with a "sneaky fastball"? His 2005 season has to be one of the luckiest in the history of baseball. How a lefty pitcher who throws 92 mph fastballs only allows only one homer all season is something that science can't explain.

Have we thrown out anyone stealing this year? Have our infielders caught any throw from the catcher this year?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:41 AM) I could give 2 s***s that gload is gone. I just want to video tape his swing, and use it as a blue print for young hitters in our system. A nice line drive approach. Maybe then when a guy comes up, they wont look like concentrated cat poop for 2 to 3 years. You're going to hate Josh Fields, aren't you?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) I couldn't agree with you more. It's like how some thought Neal Cotts could be a starter.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:39 AM) So you guys are being serious about wishing we had gload as a full-time OFer? I wish he was given the chance last year to show if he could do it or not when Pods clearly showed he couldn't.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:38 AM) Gload is brutal in the OF. Sisco won't be very good unless he can throw strikes on a more consistent basis, but potentially he helps you more than Gload would. Besides losing Gload opened up a spot for the unaminous selection to the Grinder Hall of Fame, Darin Erstad. I'm just wondering how long we're going to keep messing around with the LF and CF position over the next few years. It would be nice to sign a talented FA one of these years, especially with Dye gone after this year.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:35 AM) Gload is worse than Pods in LF or Mack in CF!!! Didn't anyone see the first inning? Thanks for the grand salami against Ray and Orioles last year Ross, but a lefty who throws 95 MPH and might have a future as a starter has a lot more value than a utility 1B/DH/LF. Sisco will never be a starter. He'd need 100 pitches to get thru 4 innings. I wish we could get him in the minors right now working as a closer.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
Anderson didn't take those two strikes very well. His body is going forward on the pitch....not exactly textbook hitting mechanics. If he doesn't keep his hands back, he has no chance to do anything.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:33 AM) Ok, so way to compare two bench players, one who plays defense and one who doesnt. Congrats on your non-point. Seriously, come up with something that Ross Gload did that was better than getting traded? He is a 31 year old career bench player. Gload's the type of line drive hitter that could help balance out some of the home run hitters we've had. The funny thing is that I'm nowhere near Gload's biggest fan. All I'm saying is that I thought he should have received more of a shot last year.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 02:32 AM) Actually it doesn't. 156 and and 234 At-bats are only a significant amount to a career bench player. Defensively speaking I would rather have Mack in CF than Ross in LF or RF. Podsednik currently has better numbers than Ross right now anyways. I simply have no faith in Pods to stay healthy. BTW Rock, why do you think he's going to need surgery?
