2007 MLB Catch-All Thread
Josh Beckett will forever be a favorite of mine after 2003. I'm watching Ned Yost manage a horrific 11th inning here vs the Cubs. How on earth do you pitch to Soriano with an open base with a pitcher on deck? It's shocking how bad the NL is.

Yes sir!!!! Good job going with the fastball after the curves?

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
That curve had no bite on it. He's going to hang it in order to get it over the plate.

Oh jeez....Jenks has nothing yet again.

Nice catch by PK. Jenks has to start using that offspeed stuff earlier in the count.

Ugh, not a good start. That's a ball that should have been caught. The Royals never make it easy.

Great job by PK there...made it look simple.

Excellent!!!! Keep getting more insurance runs.

And the Cubs bullpen is awful also.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:48 AM) Add in Jenks and you have what I believe is 4 relievers with previous history of arm problems. I think Masset and Aardsma are the only clean ones, but I could be wrong. I think Masset had surgery before on his elbow.

Sanders is just getting a day off. He's been swinging the bat well this year.

QUOTE(JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:46 AM) i see everyones hating on ozzie but what exactly would you have done differently? i know sisco sucks but they are trying to build this kids confidence and see what he can do late in ballgames. maybe they found their answer tonight You don't build it the day after you blew a 2 run lead with 2 outs in the 9th inning basically due to the overuse of your bullpen. If Thornton was available tonight, as he showed he was, he needs to start that inning.

I wonder if Ozzie looked at roster and thought: MacDougal against a hitter that was never good enough to start vs Sox or Thornton vs one of the best fastball hitters in baseball?
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
At least we have a lead after one of the worst managed innings in history.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Ozzie just got severly outmanaged. What a piece of s***.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Did we just play into the Royals hands by putting Sanders to the plate against a fastball pitcher? Ouch....not good.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:41 AM) It's so weird seeing Gload in a KC uniform, no? Not really, I wasn't used to seeing him in a Sox uniform the last two years.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) Has there ever been a Yankee game on ESPN that didn't last at least 3:30? Yep, gotta hate a patient offense.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 02:40 AM) My gameday must have f***ed up, it says Sweeney got out. I thought it was gone off the bat.

Oh boy....Ozzie, wouldn't it have been easier to let Thornton start this inning.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Whew, that ball looked like it had a chance off the bat.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Hopefully we win this, but if we blow this, it would be a very demoralizing loss after yesterday's game. Nice urgency dickhead.

How many times in last few years have the Royals rallied against us late? If we lose this, it falls directly on Ozzie Guillen. In no way did he put us in the best chance to succeed this inning.
-
White Sox vs. Royals, 4/23/07 (W)
Well, the batter knows he's getting a fastball here.
