  1. This is the part of the game where we've let good pitchers with high pitch counts go an extra inning or so do to hacking away. Verlander's getting locked in.
  2. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:57 PM) Something I just looked up. Sox are dead last in doubles with 16, and the Twins lead with 46. Wow, that's amazing. Shockingly we had two in a row to win the game yesterday also. Doubles is a good example of a team hitting the ball hard, which we have definitely not done so far this year.
  3. QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) PK could definitely use a day off. And this way Anderson can play in CF, and we won't be missing the grinder effect with him at 1B.
  4. Wow....thankfully PK has two big hits this series, cause this is as bad as he's looked in a long time. Give him a day off tomorrow or Tuesday.
  5. I think we're seeing why Ozuna only faces LHP. Still don't understand Iguchi sitting vs tough righty, as he's one of our best hitters against RHP.
  6. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Garland's definitely pitching like he doesn't care today...way to pick up your teammates Jon, it's not like we don't want to have a five game winning streak. We don't.
  7. I feel like Hawk is cheating on Yaz, Catfish, and Jim Rice this year with Al Kaline and Dick Williams.
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) if the kitties win big all we'll hear about is the motivational stylings of jim leyland who called out his team yet again and set them on the course of victory. f***ing bulls***. That's funny, cause he managed a horrible, horrible game on Friday night.
  9. Mercy....it's been hard to follow these long fly balls to right field in Detroit.
  10. Nice turn by Pablo there....better than Iguchi shockingly.
  11. I love a manager that doesn't try to play small ball in the first few innings of a game. No reason to give up the first out.
  12. Nick Masset....good luck today! Garland has zero chance of having a good start when the ump won't call the low strike.
  13. Way to come out sharp today! At least the usuals will leave this thread.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) Worst 1st inning team in baseball. We have to be. They're struggling now, but I love the 2-3-4-5 for the Tigers. All four are very tough outs. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) And why the f*** would you give Polanco something outer half like that? It's AJP....how dare you question him!
  15. Another terrible start to the game. PK in quicksand over there?
  16. One of these days, Garland will realize that he doesn't have a good changeup.
  17. This ump has a small strike zone. That's definitely an advantage for the Tigers.
  18. What a great eye by Thome.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 21, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) lol what do you get more vindication from: Winning or calling out pessimists? I went back and looked at the first page of this thread....only two people said ballgame (and for the record, I wasn't one of them). Even one of the most optimistic, realistic posters on this site made a reference to watching the Bulls game instead of this game due to the score.
  20. Uribe....simple sac fly will do.
  21. I've been calling for doubles all year....great to see! Let's get another one.
  22. Too bad we can't pr for PK here.
  23. We'll see some home run swings this inning....hopefully they connect.
  24. Someone coming in to face Monroe?
