  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) Not me. Especially without home field. Randy Johnson has owned us this year, and the Yankees lineup, if they get Sheffield back, might be the best I've ever seen. I'll take my chances of overcoming the A's curse. Last year, there were probably people afraid of playing the Angels in the ALCS due to the west coast factor.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) It's unbelievable. It's like clockwork. If we made the playoffs, I sure as hell wouldn't want to play the As. I think I'd much rather play them than the Yankees.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:12 AM) Mack scores a run with his dong, then gives it back up with his tard defense. So basically he provided nothing tonight. It could easily lead to a 2nd run though.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:11 AM) It's simple baseball. Even Hawk is ripping him. It's just another mental/hustle lapse by this team which is really pathetic during a pennant race.
  5. When we have this particular outfield playing, it's the worst defensive outfield in baseball.
  6. This team has no intensity right now. What a shocker, our outfield defense is letting us down again. Dye better stop worrying about the MVP talk, and pick up his game.
  7. That was a routine pop up. Mackowiak didn't need to dive for that.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:08 AM) 4 innings completed, 1 hit. This is our usual offensive output lately, not matter if Johan is pitching of some AAAA bum who has a 9 ERA. Once a week we will rip apart some guy, then struggle to make contact and get hits for the next week. This offense is frustrating. It's astonishing how often we're getting 1 or 2 hit after 5 innings. FIRE OZZIE GUILLEN!
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:08 AM) Man, Chavez only has 66 RBI's. Remember all that talk about him actually making an all-star team? He might be the most overrated player in the majors.
  10. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:05 AM) anybody see what kind of velocity the piranha from tiajuana is tossing? Whatever the latest Balco product is producing these days.
  11. SWING THE FREAKING BAT! Any time Thome wants to start carrying this team down the stretch...I hope he feels free to go for it.
  12. Dye seems to be swinging harder than usual now, and not surprisingly, the results haven't been as good.
  13. Any word on MacDougal's availability? Very nice catch by Payton.
  14. Nice to still be tied in this game. Good pitch selection to Frank to get him off-balanced.
  15. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:56 AM) have you really seen enough of him that you can say that? Um, yes. I watch a TON of baseball, and have had that particular thought about Kotsay for a few years now. He's had a bad back for a while now, and he has trouble getting his hands up quick enough on the high fastball.
  16. Garland has no command of his offspeed pitches so far.
  17. Pathetic relay throw by Iguchi, as his arm has hurt us twice this inning. I'm not quite sure why we threw him a low fastball, as that's the only pitch he's dangerous on.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:50 AM) If I were Gooch I would have been tempted to let the ball drop. Kendal didn't appear to hustle out of the box. If this was last year, he would have dropped it, and not intentionally.
  19. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:49 AM) And here we go again with the Brian Anderson fan convention... I wouldn't be stunned if he's traded this offseason. I know KW likes him, and he's supposed to be the Sox CF of the future. However, the more each day goes by, the more I think Juan Pierre will be our CF next year.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:44 AM) Mackowiak should be starting in LF and leading off right now, either him or Gload it just makes no damn sense to me. All you have to know is that Chris Rongey said he sucks. Rongey has a hard time being negative about anyone.
  21. Well...at least Pods won't be leading off next inning.
  22. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 02:42 AM) LOL. Thats awesome. We need his offense right now. BA is back in his bigtime struggles. Yep, you won't even see many complain too much about it right now. We need as much offense as we can get. It's just too bad we never gave Mackowiak a chance in LF this season.
