We rarely capitalize on hangers.

A superb AB by AJP after getting down. We don't need a homer here Crede...just a gapper.

Thanks AJ for swinging at the first pitch.

Lets get Crede up as the tying run.

Nice 1-0 swing by PK.

Super AB by Thome. Garland had a better chance to get a hit than he did.

Too bad the grass isn't wet.

White Sox Call Up Four
I don't know if this was posted, but Ozzie said on the pregame that Sweeney will be getting a few starts in CF. Apparently our LF situation doesn't need improvement.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) I think he should get the opportunity to prove that in the next couple of weeks, but I certainly don't know that what you posted is true quite yet. Remember how bad Logan was when he was in the majors earlier this season? Brutal. Worse than Cotts by a lot. Remember how bad Cotts was when he first made the majors? QUOTE(cgaudin @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Hate to say it but Skankees and Oakland look to be the head of the pack. They are playing very consistently. The Sox have not and WILL not go on that roll we've all been waiting for. It is clear that this team does not have the look of a champion. Post-season? Yeah, I think we will squeak in by default since Boston went on the DL and the Twins are short players also. But I believe we will make a quick exit. You can put that on the board. The Phillies might have handed the AL pennant to the Yankees. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) I wish Boone would get a serious look and some opportunities to come into close games. But I think Ozzie is going to stick with his #1 lefty set up man. He's said as much. Cotts helped them in the championship season and I think that's about all Ozzie thinks about. Close games?

You know what's impressive: every decision Ozzie made about the starting lineup tonight didn't work out. Playing Pods, playing Mack, and playing Cintron. Well done skipper!

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) Logan > Cotts Yep, and I'm not one of the Boone fanatics on this site. I should have known he'd look good, my source told me he looked nasty, and he's never a fan of Sox prospects. That same source said that the Sox would be better instantly if Sweeney was starting in LF tonight.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) If the Sox fall short this season, we will hear about numerous pitchers pitching around injuries. That's a given. What won't be explained is why the Sox didn't use McCarthy if these guys were hurt. I've been saying earlier that I'm predicting major offseason surgery for either Contreras or Thome.

Logan showed me more in that AB vs DeJesus than Cotts has in 2 months.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) Sweeney should be in left for prancer. And AJ needs to be benched for the rest of the game. Put Stewart in. Start pulling our guys who are half assing it. So Baines will be managing?

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) are we really that f***ing bad? We should have known it might get uglier after how pathetic we played in that Wednesday win over Tampa.
-
Sox @ Royals, September 1, 2006 7:05 p.m.
AJP's bat speed is just pathetic now.
-
Sox @ Royals, September 1, 2006 7:05 p.m.
If we're not careful, we might have the Red Sox within a few games of us again. Ortiz is likely to return for our game on Monday, so they should have a lot of intensity and I believe we face Schilling.

Is Contreras still better than Santana?

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) HE'S NOT HURT. If he were hurt they wouldn't let him pitch. They've invested too much in him to allow this to get worse by throwing him out there every five days. Enough already. It's between his ears, he loses confidence. We should've traded for El Duque to keep him company and straighten him out. Then why does every article state that Ozzie keeps asking him if he's injured?
-
Sox @ Royals, September 1, 2006 7:05 p.m.
I don't think the Sox know if Jose is hurt or not. Jose might be keeping it to himself, and have too much pride to blame his struggles on the injury. Also, I could have won a lot of money tonight betting someone that Delmon Young would go hitless.

Dye and Crede are this offense

Sox @ Royals, September 1, 2006 7:05 p.m.
There's no reason to pitch Contreras anymore tonight.

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) At least its one more game off the schedule. = one less game until Pods is gone. However, I have the sickening feeling he won't be gone.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) And yet...he doesn't play CF. So would Anderson have had the balls that Mack has screwed up? I haven't been here to ask. NO CHANCE

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) Another blown opportunity to seperate ourselves from the Twins. This whole Royals team is dogs***. I'm most upset about Fat ass Hernandez shutting us down. This KC team has some hitters that have a much better approach than our guys right now.
