  1. Wow...deja vu. We have to get one of these runs in, and two would be great.
  2. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) I hate the Red Sox more than the Yankees. Yankees run a good organization even though they pay up the butt for players. They probably meant that the Yankees hate the Red Sox.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 07:01 PM) I don't care if we blow this, Ozz made the right call here. Absolutely
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) He turned a DP a lot of guys don't turn there. How's that? Most guys would just toss that to the 2nd baseman.
  5. A stunner...our 1-2-3 is 0-9 so far against a lefty. Where's Balta's post again?
  6. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) then he says he was a great athlete, not saying anything about his baseball game Yes, but that was after about 10 seconds of silence, and Albert had to ask him what he thought of him. Pinella made a great point about Iguchi's struggles against lefties. He tries to pull the ball way too much against LHP.
  7. My favorite line by Pinella today was in response to this: Albert: You had Podsednik in Seattle Lou: Yes, we had Podsednik in Seattle.....silence I wouldn't mind seeing MacDougal start the next inning. The Monroe/Thames combo is scary against someone like Buehrle.
  8. Buehrle's getting his pitches over the plate now, and the Tigers are hitting him hard.
  9. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:46 PM) Pods is so awesome...he rocks my world...seriously.. Anytime KW wants to get a 4th outfielder, that'll be fine. We can't keep facing tough lefties the rest of this way with our current 1-2-3. Brady Clark would look awesome leading off vs LHP.
  10. The 4 slowest players I've seen in the last few years are Paul Konerko, Benji Molina, Jason Phillips, and Matt LeCroy.
  11. When's the last time Anderson hit a line drive to the opposite field?
  12. There we go Juan! Time for Anderson to do something to help this team.
  13. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) is Cintron going to be our everyday SS in that case? If Uribe keeps playing this stiff, then Cintron is the better option.
  14. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) Mark missed Sandy's glove by a lot. Doesn't matter, he still ended up speeding up Casey's bat by throwing that pitch there.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:30 PM) Buehrle is really struggling. But he's not throwing near as bad as the past two games scores would indicate. Lets score some runs for Mark. For a few years this guy has been our ace and its time the offense picked him up and gets him back (of course they've done it a ton with Mark just giving the lead right back) but lets do it again and this time Marky Mark will hold the Tigers down. I'm beginning to agree with you that Uribe is gone this offseason.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) Talk about a brutal pitch by Buehrle. Casey hasn't been looking to go opposite field all day; his swing right now is so pull happy. Not only does he speed up Casey's bat by throwing that curveball, but he throws in on the inner half. That's not a good job by Alomar or whoever is calling pitches. 3-0. Great. And for anyone who's seen Casey bat a lot in his career, that's the only type of pitch he can really drive to right field. I'm so thrilled we got Sandy and his leadership.
  17. Buehrle keeps throwing that offspeed pitch inside with 2 strikes to lefties. Buehrle has a great cutter going today, but some stupid pitch selection. It's amazing how teams just KILL us with their speed.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) One mistake and its 2-0. Wish we turn that DP. Doesn't show in the scorecard, but that hustle mixed with a slow give to Iguchi by Uribe gives them this. It's the little things like hustling out of the box to avoid the DP that has made the Tigers so great this year. On the other hand, it's the inability to turn a DP on a routine grounder which has killed our pitchers this season.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) That wasn't a pitch a lot of guys swing at that far down and in. That's right in Casey's wheelhouse though.
  20. Those two runs are on Juan Uribe. Team speed also comes back to bite us in the ass again.
