QUOTE(daa84 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) i have no problem with people getting on him...but people who say riveras homer was a "meatball" just arent familiar with what a meatball is To be honest, I'm more concerned about the fact he has no change-up....again!

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) If a meatball is a breaking pitch 1 inch from the dirt inside, then I guess every pitch is a meatball. Meatball = pitch that the hitter can lean into and swing out of their ass. Hitters look so comfortable at the plate against him.

Buehrle keeps throwing meatballs up to the plate....he has no chance against this Angels lineup.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 02:23 AM) The swing for the fence method failed to score us a run in the first. Man on 2nd with less than 2 outs, Dye swings at a ball that was more like to hit him, and Thome does his out or dong routine. Something I've never understood is why does Iguchi always swing when Pods is running? Most of the time, you see the #2 hitter take the pitch, and give the runner the chance to steal.

Ugh...high change-ups starting already.

That's a pitch he does a lot of damage on in the first half.

Ugh...where's the bat speed MVP?

Figgins for Crede Article
Crede for Figgins is just too much like Lee for Pods in terms of ability. I just can't see KW and JR wanting to get rid of Crede though.

Contreras Beats Lackey 9/11/06
One of the few wins this year where we've scored 3 or less runs. It was a one inning eruption...but that's all we needed.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:30 AM) He gone. Save number 40 for Bobby. Vlad should of been a ground out, if Uribe was playing normally. We've played Vlad way in the hole for a few years now. If you recall, he played pepper with Uribe in the hole the whole ALCS

RF homer is a huge possibility for Rivera vs Jenks.

Nice pathetic 0-2 pitches by Jenks. Why in the world would you throw him a fastball in?

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:27 AM) Iguchi needs to play in the hole more. Wow, just as I typed that. Jenks shouldn't be in this game.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:26 AM) WTF. I thought that was going to be a regular ground out. We've been shifting him in the hole for a long time. It paid off big time in the ALCS.

Another pathetic offspeed pitch from Jenks. He doesn't seem like he's bending enough on those pitches.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:21 AM) Hmm, close play. The funny thing is even if he beat the throw, they would have had PK out by a mile at first.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 04:19 AM) With the key difference being that Mike Sweeney was actually good. Exactly....which would make it so much worse.
