Excellent!! We've had a string of 9 good at-bats now. 2 more big runs out on the bases.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) Holy Christ. Paulie hit a low and away pitch to RF. He must of remembered last years ALCS when he banged a few off the RF fence. Man, he had a terrific AB against KRod in game 5.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:02 AM) Sure why not? I'm feeling particularly pessimistic tonight. I'll get over it if we don't. Last year, it would have been a very, very long offseason.

Wow...what a great approach by PK. We have to find a way to get this run in.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) So how is everybody gonna feel about not making the playoffs this year? Is this a serious question?

Terrible pitch selection. We're lucky he didn't hit that out.

We saw that Vlad 6-3 grounder about 20 times last October. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:56 AM) Dye bashing his knee Saturday has him very tentative around walls. He may have caught Sizemore's foul ball yesterday had he not hurt himself the night before. Sizemore then wouldn't have tripled. That was a huge play in the game. I feel bad blaming Dye, but that was a turning point in the game.

Contreras is dropping down a lot more this inning. His velocity drops like 3-4 mph when he throws sidearm.

Contreras is throwing a changeup.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:50 AM) That was lucky, but the Sox can't shake their heads and feel sorry for themselves. I know it was a fluke play...but our runners seem to have an issue about freezing on a liner.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:39 AM) It seems like the Sox go for real long stretches without baserunner an awful lot lately. Maybe the toll of having to provide so much offense this season has worn on them. They're just not being consistently tough outs.

The amazing Sox offense continues to roll. Where's Carmona when you need him? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) No right handed pitcher has ever beaten the great Rob Mackowiak! EVA! That, and Mack has those pictures... Mackowiak is one of my favorite players, and has been for a while. However, Ozzie has found a way to make me dislike him.

How many times have we been no-hit thru 3 innings over the last few weeks?

White Sox v. Angels, 9/11, Gamethread
QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) I can see Ozzie being the type that quits after a bad year (not making the playoffs). I think the only chance of him not being our manager for the next 3 years is if he says something stupid in the press again.

White Sox v. Angels, 9/11, Gamethread
To be quite honest, this feels like a game where the Angels will get 2 or 3 runs across just due to guys stealing at will against Contreras. I'm not so sure our offense has top that.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) Ha! They do need to find a life. His sons seem to appreciate their role on the team. Hell, it took one of his sons to step up and tell Ozzie to stop screwing around and let Jenks start the 9th.

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) I really hope they snap out of it. But it must be said that this is starting alot like alot of games for the last month+, it has that 2run game smell to it.. just sayin, I still think this team has a run in em still, but strangely its the hitting thats not staying hot for multiple games. Our catalyst sets the tone. Can we just play Pods against Cleveland, and no one else? Pods owes about a million dollars a year to the right arm of VMartinez.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Am I the only one who thinks that the way things are going right now, if nothing else the thought certainly has crossed his mind? Yes, I think he'll be the type of guy who's year-to-year on his thought process. Even in the last few days, he's said things like "if I'm still here". If we miss the playoffs, maybe it will humble him.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) Ozzie needs to say something to keep him on the front page. Can't he just threaten to quit again?

Lackey is the type of guy who can flirt with a no-hitter. I'm not saying....I'm just saying.
