Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) Not very hard at all. It was a lazy, looping fly ball. His "great approach" isn't worth much when he's not yet ready for major league pitching. Sweeney = a very good prospect who is nowhere near ready for the majors. Our offense and defense would be much better if Anderson was in CF, and Gload was in LF.

QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) it doesnt matter if you throw 100mph, if you cant hit your location, you cant pitch. he hasnt walked a guy in his last 4 starts. Like they said, I was referring to junk as a junk ball pitcher.

If he strikes out, I hope they boo him off the field.

The only part of Sweeney's game that worries me right now is that the ball doesn't "jump" off of his bat. He's hit a couple of balls that looked like he got them good, but they only went like 300 feet into the outfield. Nice swing by Uribe...bad luck.

Good grief guys...when the hit-and-run is on, hit the ball on the freaking ground.

BTW...55 homers for Howard

QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Byrd is junk? He's the epitome of a junk pitcher.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) Most of our hitters would have slowed down halfway to 1st. It would have never happened....our guys wouldn't hit the ball hard the other way.

The Indians aren't done scoring, so it would really benefit the Sox to wake up the bats now, and not in the 6th or 7th inning. I'm eagerly anticipating Uribe trying to break out of his 20 AB hitless streak against a junk pitcher.

Even when we get a double play, the other team shows more hustle than we do.

Why are we having Garcia try to get out a young hitter with a weak, inside fastball when there's two strikes? Some more pathetic pitch calling by AJP.
-
Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
Wow....Garcia got away with a horrific pitch.

QUOTE(Dan @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) care to explain why? I can logically see why every other on the player could possibly be moved.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) I haven't even thought about for what. Sorta just came to me, and I wanted to see what the opinion's were. PK, Thome, Dye, Jenks and AJP are the 5 guys that I guarantee won't get traded this offseason.

Freddy's thrown too many good breaking pitches this AB. We have to hope he doesn't hang one now.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) For a good starting pitcher? I think he'd do it in a second. He almost traded Konerko for Washburn 2 or 3 years ago. The dynamics surrounding PK have drastically changed since then. As someone just said, he's the face of the Sox.

Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
This ought to be some special pitch calling with an 0-2 count.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Fathom, let me ask you a wacky question.. Do you think Kenny would think of trading Konerko? Not saying he should, just want to toss it out there... Nope...not a chance.

Pitch around VMart here, and try to set up the DP.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) I like the guy; I love the intensity, etc. Maybe the bat-dropping, tsk, tsking, and shoulder-shrugging is just part of the package. No fun to watch, though. Eh, good with the bad, I guess. I think his pitch calling has been brutal this season, and even a lot of the more optimistic posters who don't criticize players often on this site have agreed.

I like the pitch selection to Sizemore though...first pitch, 88 mph fastball on the inner half is really going to fool him.
-

J. Dye....take your time out there. My grandma would have got to that ball quicker.

QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Anyone else tired of A.J.'s act? For as much credit as he received last year, he deserves a lot of criticism this year.

This offense is absolutely awful now. I'll be absolutely, absolutely stunned if Garcia doesn't allow at least one run this inning.

Keep pulling that outside pitch all month PK...you'll be back home in Arizona in no time.
