Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) Don't the Sox just look real energized for this HUGE 3 game series? That's why we need Aaron Rowand.

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) twins announcers= hawk like excitement over boof and the team right now. quote the last word said, "BOOOOF" They've won 45 of their last 62 games with about 5 legit everyday starters. I don't blame them for being excited.

I think the LLWS pitchers throw faster than Freddy.

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) sometimes i really feel like the players dont care this year All you had to hear is the difference in what Hunter and Buehrle said today, and you could tell which team would be more intense.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) Ozzie usually gives the opposition's best hitters the opportunity to beat the Sox. That's why I was shocked when he walked Grudz yesterday. The offense appears lost at the present time. The timing of this series has the feel that every Minnesota trip felt like prior to last season.

BTW....this is going to be an awfully long series if Ozzie keeps letting Morneau beat us. He's the best hitter in baseball right now. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Pods has to be closing in on a record for leadoff hitters taking a 3rd strike. Nice to see Freddy get out of the inning only giving up 1. Its ridiculous he's never ready to pitch in the first inning. Has anyone worn out their welcome more in Chicago sports history quicker than Pods did this season?

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) its only a matter of time They said he's working on a new pitch. I have a bad feeling it's that 84 mph pitch that he's hung right down the cock about 5 times already. It's supposed to be a splitter, but it looks more like a hanging changeup.

One inning closer to him being out of the game.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) You better f***ing keep the at 1 Freddy or it could get ugly quick. He's flirting with a crooked number right now.

This umpire has a pretty small zone. If Garcia is forced to throw it over the plate....he's in trouble. Goodness....this is comical. I want to hit against Freddy.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) God f***ing damnit Freddy, you b**** I take some pleasure out of knowing that we're only going to see him start about 7 more times in his career with the Sox.

Good grief do I hate Freddy Garcia. If his stuff doesn't improve tonight, he's not making it out of the 4th inning.
-
Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
Morneau shouldn't see a single good pitch to hit this inning.

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
1st and 3rd for an extremely hot hitter. Garcia has absolutely no bite on his pitches right now.

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) When did Michael Cuddyer become Tom Brunansky? You could see him becoming dangerous for a few years now. The ball has always jumped off of his bat. It's too bad the Twins didn't give up on him becoming a full-time player.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) why in the world does Morneau bat 5th? lefty-lefty stuff? It's working out quite well for them. Garcia's dialing up that fastball at 87 mph now. You can cancel the postgame.

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
86 mph on his first fastball

QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) now playing left field for your 2007 white Sox Josh Fields. As long as it's not Mr. No Tools QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Twinkies crowed is amped, Bonser is throwing good, Twins are pumped. Gotta step up Freddy. If Garcia goes out there with his mediocre stuff, we might get ourselves in a massive hole.
-
Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
Not a good start at all. The Twins seem very pumped up.

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) is there a chance that pods has been called out on strikes more times than hes struck out swinging? Easily

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Scotty you have a damn bat, swing it... Does he even watch video of the opposing pitcher to know that they might have an offspeed pitch?

Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
What a shocker! Sit down Pods.
-
Pay Back Time at the Tinky Winky Dome
It will be interesting to see the intensity level of both teams tonight. Hunter said that the Twins are treating this like a playoff series, and he's worried they'll be too amped up. On the other hand, Buehrle is downplaying the importance of this series. It would sure be nice to win the first game of this series.

Speculation about Pods
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 18, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) Heh. From watching the playoffs last year, it seems to me that lots of homers and good pitching wins in the playoffs. (I'll also add 'good defense' to that, too.) Timely hitting and timely pitching win playoff games.
