QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) *sigh* He just can't win, can he? What I meant is that if he was going to pull Garcia to let Cotts face Costa, why didn't he pull Garcia earlier when the red hot Teahen was up? Teahen had some great swings against Garcia tonight...and he's likely the offensive hero of this game.

QUOTE(Allsox @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Would it kill Sox pitchers to change the gameplan during the game from nibbling the corner early to jamming guys inside later?!? The whole game, Sox starters nibble that outside corner to death early but don't bother jamming guys inside at all. I can't count how many opposite field hits righties and lefties have had against all the starters except for Garland who's been throwing that sinker on everyone's hands. When you lose velocity, you lose your confidence to throw it inside effectively. There's been many times this year where Garcia and Buehrle tried to jam someone, and the "jam" went 400 feet.

Some pathetic managing here. At this point in the game, Garcia had absolutely no reason to still be in this game.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) No fathom, no. He had the right inflection in his voice. I can't believe I forgot to add a "you know" for Ozzie's dialogue. Some strong words by Hawk....I wonder if he actually believes it though.

Ozzie: Freddy, do you want to try and get the win? Freddy: Yes Ozzie: Ok

Pitching change now? We don't have a lot of time to waste.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) Hooray! I love losing to the worst team in baseball. We just need to pray that PK and Thome are back soon. The last thing I want is shades of 2004.
-
Ugh....I still think we might want to make Teahen hit something other than a fastball. It's simply amazing how the opposition scores from first on any double hit against our guys.
-
If DJ says that Verlander is having problems, then how would he describe our pitchers?
-
Wang's about to get his 5th straight win for NYY. They're playing some excellent baseball right now.
-
Good speed...long way to run from the warning track.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) they didn't face Kazmir. It's the way things are going now....Kazmir gets hurt just before he's supposed to face NY and Detroit. Also, thanks Toronto for not lining up Halladay to face your division rivals this week.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) Problem is our defense is what sucks. We should be winning this game with proper execution. I think our chemistry is really bad right now, to be honest.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) Man. SO close. He's one of your favorites, isn't he?
-
Ugly swing by Anderson. Too many guys swinging early in the count has allowed Hudson to go 7 innings tonight. That's one of the many things we miss with Thome and PK out of the lineup.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) ick, i just hate when a borderline pitcher dominates the Sox like this. It just bugs the hell out of me. I know he pitched better since being a starter, but not like this We don't exactly have our A lineup tonight.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) Hafner 2-R Homer Cle up 5-4. Thanks Boston for pitching to him.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) Now if Pods was in center, that ball would of been racing towards the wall. Pods would be on the ground stunned. It would have landed 30 feet in front of him.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) No I was commenting on a thread this morning where several people concluded that our offense has looked better since Thome was injured. Apparently we've faced amazing pitching in the last 5 days. If we don't get PK and Thome back for the next long stretch of games, our season could be in serious jeopardy.
-
Damn...nice play there. It almost sneaked by him.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) Uribe does that silly little wrist flip catch all the time. And he always looks like he's gonna drop the ball. He really f***ed up today doing it. Seriously, he could NOT have picked a worse day to do it. You just got benched for being lazy on defense, and you do that. He's going to be sitting a while. The ironic thing is that Uribe is one of the best guys in baseball at catching anything that touches his mitt.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) wth did Uribe do? i changed the channel Dropped a routine foul pop. I don't mean difficult....it was worse than Crede against Manny last year. Of course, he tried to catch it without two hands.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) I love how much love Uribe still gets, even though he seems to always make stupid, inexcusable errors like that. People are brainwashed by the catch in the World Series, and by Hawk. Sure, it was a great catch, don't get me wrong. No offense, but please show us a little more respect than that. Outside of the last 10 games, he was a well above average defensive player. He's very streaky as a hitter, but he still produces a lot for someone making 4 million who can hit low in the order.
-
I don't like where this is headed with Uribe. He's such a streaky player, the last thing we need is for him to be on the bench for a while. However, Ozzie can't let him keep pulling this spiff.

QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) this game doesn't have a good feeling to it We need to find a way to score 2 runs next inning, and then hold them in the 7th.
