  1. Vazquez's next start is at Toronto against Halladay likely. I might as well makes plans for my fiance to go out that night, as there's no point in watching that game.
  2. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) And PAblo does his best Pods impersonation Don't worry, LF is not a weakness. We might be lacking in power out there, but the defense makes up for it.
  3. QUOTE(champ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) What gives you the reasoning that they would never give 100%? You don't have any, so why the dumb assumption? I don't know if it's the effort level, but judging by some recent comments, I think they're sitting around waiting for something bad to happen.
  4. The Tigers seem to be getting better. Ordonez has been such a solid force for them this year.
  5. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) All the blame cant fall on Guillen, when almost all of his pitching staff has been horse spiff... especially , Mark, Neal, Javier, and Freddy. You need horses to look like a good manager. How about you put your pitchers in situations where they can succeed? Everyone in the world knows that Vazquez sucks the 3rd time through the order and after 75 pitches. There's been too many times lately where the decision making was bad. It's not Ozzie's fault though....our pitching has underachieved all season. Hell, last night when Jenks got the DP was the first time I can remember a pitcher of ours making a big pitch in a clutch situation.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Who agrees that Vazquez affects the play of the entire team with his crappy pitching?
  7. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) People can get excite about the last two wins all they want, but as I've said yesterday, this team is still playing like spiff. We're not on the same tier as the Tigers, Twins, or Yankees. I was one of those people criticizing you about how you should be happy we won. I will completely agree with you that unless things change drastically, the Tigers, Twins, and Yankees are on a different level than we are. This Yankees trade is really going to improve them.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) And just when i thought we might go on a roll, and then this FREAKING clunker.....So much for getting excited about baseball again. Hawk is already making KC out to seem like they're the 27 Yankees.
  9. Yanks won....back to 2nd place if we lose.
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) You can actually SEE how Vazquez negatively affects the rest of this team. You can fishing see it! He just takes the wind out of everyone's sails. This team will not make the playoffs with Garcia and Vazquez in the rotation. KW has about a day to get rid of one of them. This team, as is, will not make the playoffs. Who wants to start the Congrats on your 100th loss thread if we lose? He's always had the reputation in baseball as not being a "winner". He's probably the opposite, in terms of reputation, as El Duque.
  11. QUOTE(champ @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) I'm sure he will, and it's not because he's stubborn. It's because Vazquez was cruising...you don't just go to the bullpen for the sake of going to the bullpen. That's a fishing waste. I swear I've seen this same post 100 times in the last month.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) Nice job today Manuel. The Orioles have nothing to play for, it's extremely warm, and they've played their main guys all weekend. Hey Neal....nice offspeed pitch....do you have one?
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Wow, I leave it's 4-2, come back 5-4. What the fish. It was Vazquez...did you honestly believe he'd keep that 2 run lead safe?
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Gload's having a HELL of a day Maybe this will finally end the myth of Gold Glove Gload.
  15. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) Runs count in the 1st thru the 5th, just as much. Oh, I completely agree that the defense was poor. I thought you were saying that the big 6th inning happened due to bad defense. This is just another terribly managed game, from start to current action.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) He's a free agent after next year and will likely test the market for his final contract. He's not worth Anderson and McCarthy. I didn't know he only had one year left. Of course, I wouldn't do that deal then.
  17. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) I blame Ozzie, how many of us saw this coming? As a manager u have to know what your players are capable of and not capable of, Ozzie did another terrible job today letting Vazquez even start the 6th inning.... fishin unreal... The worst thing to happen to this team this season was the Vazquez trade.
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) He won't go inside on lefthanded hitters either. He has a young hitter up there in Fahey with two strikes and he throws one out over the outer half. It's what we talked about yesterday. He really needs to learn another pitch, if not two more pitches. I still think starting the inning would do wonders for him.
  19. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) Just humorous just how much like clockwork it is. 6th inning he implodes. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times? ....punch someone in the face?
  20. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) How about some blame for some poor defence. Every game in this series the starting pitcher has had to get 4 outs in an inning. What was wrong with the defense that inning?
  21. Our bottom of the order looks really tough today.
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:34 PM) Who knows how many runs Javy gives up if he's left in there, you can't leave him in to get killed, he has a history of completely imploding in the 6th, he should have been pulled before immediately following the HR. There's no way anyone can say it hasn't become a mental issue with him now. It's been almost the exact same situation the last three starts, and the same thing has happened.
  23. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) Great job Neal. At least Vazquez was decent. Wow...I guess I expect more out of a high-priced pitcher than 5.1-5 ER.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) So glad he went to the bullpen. And no blame for Vazquez?
