  1. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) good thing the rest of the season doesn't matter and the playoffs are decided right now, i got scared there Thanks
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) I'll take door #3. You would
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) Popup on the right side? Great call...I should have added that. That will get the shoulder shrug, followed by the bat slam.
  4. The good news it that even if we lose tonight, we're still making the playoffs if the season ended tonight!!!! That will make me sleep better.
  5. With the way PK has gone lately, he'll either: - K - ground out to 3rd base, and slam his bat once he hits it - homer
  6. Ha...Pods playing Bartlett on the warning track. It's huge for MacDougal to get out of this inning. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) We could keep talking about breaks, or our pitchers could stop throwing very very crushable 0-2 pitches. I think it our pitchers start to think a bit more, and execute on 0-2 instead of giving up dongs, the game might have a different spin. But they were sure lucky to get an 0-2 hanging forkball gift. That rally started by Contreras giving up an 0-2 single to White.
  7. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Crede? Oh yeah...and it hurt us when he lobbed the ball to Iguchi to turn the DP against the Tigers last Thursday.
  8. Why does our left side of the infield continue to half-ass their throws? It's been happening for far too long now.
  9. In the past, our hitters made Nathan's fastball look like it was 120 mph.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) Might as well accept we used up all of our breaks last year. Even when we were playing and hitting well we weren't getting many breaks. Oh well, it was worth it. Absolutely. The more time passes, the more you realize what took place last year. When guys like Cliff Politte are playing at an all-star level for the entire season, you thank your lucky stars that your team capitalized on it and actually won the World Series. This would be torture right now if we lost in the playoffs, and then came back with all this hope to try and get back to the WS again.
  11. There's a shocker...we don't do crap against a Twins reliever. This seems like 2002-2004 all over again.
  12. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) wheres A-Rod when you need him Funny thing is that he played superb defense against us.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:17 AM) So pods can outrun a hit into the hole. Thank god we have him for his blinding speed. He made that play closer than I thought it would be. It might have been one of the first times I saw him hustle down the line all season.
  14. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) I agree, get some fire pumping into the team Nah, he'd rather rip on Van Slyke I don't blame him for not getting tossed....just thought it might have been a good scenario to pump his team up.
  15. When's the last time the opposition threw a ball away at first base against us?
  16. Wow...sensational play by Bartlett. We're just not getting any of the breaks/calls right now.
  17. Ozzie....this would be the perfect time to get ejected.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:13 AM) Ugh. Steroids comin in. I'd rather face Johan. I'd rather face anyone in baseball other than Johan. I would have rather faced Gagne in his prime over him.
  19. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:12 AM) don't make me find the various threads and posts detailing his month-by-month stats please...anderson has dramatically improved, there is no denying that....and i'm not arguing that it was a bad pitch and he pitched super duper excellent. he has put us with within striking distance to win a ball game. Trust me, I know all the stats. Anderson has been a crappy hitter this year, end of story.
  20. I think we can scratch Flash Gordon from our wish list. He's imploding again tonight.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) Doesn't drop the gloves mean they are going to fight in hockey. Are you guys gonna webcast that? What are the odds on the fight? I'd watch it.
  22. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:08 AM) yes that's what the line says, but the actual gameplay was rather great except for the 1 pitch that wasn't even hit that well. you can't argue that. it'd be like me looking at anderson's barelly .200 and call him a crappy hitter... Um..Anderson has been a crappy hitter this season, and I'm so sick and tired of hearing "such and such was great except for 1 pitch or inning". You play to win the game, and that means getting 27 outs.
  23. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) he pitched a good game still, had the one bad pitch that turned into a popup caught in the wind, leave him alone. 7 innings 4 runs. He needed to do better than that. This gun is 1 or 2 mph fast tonight. I'm beginning to wonder why Contreras isn't at the 96 mph he was for an extended period last season. Rather, he seems to be 92-93 mph a lot more this year. Don't get me wrong...he's good, but he's not nasty like he used to be.
