  1. Personally, I think we'll be rooting for the Tigers a lot in the 2nd half.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) Yeah, but when we've tried not being patient, and swinging at either the first or second pitch, Santana will make it to the 9th inning and give up 1 run. Uribe went out and got that first pitch fastball. It will be interesting if we change our approach as the game goes on. Time for an Alomar flare.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) We are 7 1/2 out of the division. Lets worry about the team 2 behind us, that we are playing. Until we break the 5 game threshold again, we arent in the division.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) Well hopefully some of our righties have a plan tonight against Santana. When you get a fastball crush it. It looks like we're taking until we get a strike. Santana's just going to throw first pitch fastball, and our hitter will be down in the count. We've tried to work the count against Santana in the past, and he'd make it to the 7th giving up like one run.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) Man Tyner hits us hard. Did it at the end of last year too. Of course most of Minny's hits are finding holes which always helps. He's swinging the bat well so far. We need to keep changing speeds. Contreras' fastball hasn't been good enough lately where he can throw it pitch after pitch like he has in the past.
  6. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) dear god jose almost threw it away on a pitchout I would have had AJP catch tonight, and then Alomar tomorrow. Oh well.
  7. He'll be on second shortly. Sandy seems to be calling for a ton of fastballs so far against the lefties.
  8. That didn't take very long. I don't know what the hell Contreras is doing with his arm angle, but he looks terrible.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) If I recall correctly, back in 04, Carlos Lee hit a 2 out homer in the first in a Santana vs. Garland game, and that was all Garland needed. That was a great game. We swept that series....and still got destroyed by the Twins in the 2nd half.
  10. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) Pods takes close calls. He doesn't stare down the middle of the plate very often, and that's a stretch. He takes more than his fair share of pitches right down the plate. He often guesses on pitches with two strikes, and he'll take a lot of curves right down the plate.
  11. Wow! It didn't even look like he hit that well. There's your run Contreras....go get 'em.
  12. Ozuna chases strike 3. A 4th outfielder can't get here soon enough, or a LF upgrade.
  13. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) I dont understand the shots at Sandy here, it's not like AJ or the Widge threw out many runners... ever... especially with Contreras on the mound. Which is why many of us were hoping for an upgrade in that aspect. A defensive specialist would have been very nice, especially when the rosters expand.
  14. Well...we dodged a huge bullet. Great job!
  15. Quick observation, but Contreras' arm angle is very odd right now. His delivery seems slower, and he's not getting as much velocity.
  16. Big pitch there. Morneau is a HUGE batter in this game. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Contreras isn't exactly Buehrle when it comes to holding runners on, not eveyrhting is on Alomar. Alomar keeps the WP total at 0 today and I'll be happy with his defense. It's just that when you have a catcher who's thrown one guy out in the last year, teams are going to be even more aggressive.
  17. Can we have a mulligan? It's amazing to see what you can accomplish when you don't bunt a run over early in the game.
  18. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) I thought he was missing plays down the line to his right. It just seems like he's been deflecting a lot of balls that he normally would have got to. And just like that, the Twins have a great chance to take an early lead.
  19. I'm so glad we brought in the defensive stopper.
  20. Terrible start. Crede's missed more plays to his left in the last month than I can ever remember.
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) I can't understand how only we play bad against Cleveland. Cause they're a very good hitting team, and they got fortunate enough to face Freddy quite a few times this year. Also, we've struggled against C.C. and Westbrook.
  22. This slump is a hell of a lot easier to take knowing I can pop in the 2005 Sox World Series DVD whenver I want.
  23. QUOTE(soxpride77 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) I am more inclined to believe Kurkijian than Stark. Stark is the best in baseball. His reports have been much more detailed than Tim K.'s, including how much Soriano is looking for as a FA.
  24. BTW, when I first came on this site about 10 minutes ago, I thought the deal was done due to the headline "Soriano to the White Sox".
