  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) Yea, like last year, right? We were 15 games up on the day of the trade deadline.
  2. With this guys delivery, I would have actually considered having Mackowiak bat for Anderson here.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic at this point. They need something a little more dramatic IMO. I suggested the move I would consider, and it would require shaking up the whole organization. Fields, Uribe, McCarthy and another prospect for Tejada/Cabrera. I know we don't want to give up McCarthy, but KW is going for it this year.
  4. Impressive homer by Crede. He doesn't hit a lot of opposite field homers.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) This team is flat. What do you do when a team is flat? Either trash their bullpen and get momentum, or bench a guy, or put on endless steals/hit and runs, or make a trade. How about shake up the lineup? Put Dye 3rd, Thome 4th, and Konerko 5th?
  6. One of the sure-fire signs of a slump is how many great pitches we're not capitalizing on. Meanwhile, every bad pitch our guys throw is hammered. I think we can officially say this is the low point of the season right now. Mahay really quieted our bats.
  7. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) Did anyone else hear Hawk say Wasdin has the best changeup he's ever seen? LOL. Wasdin's best changeup, I'm sure he meant.
  8. Kudos to Buck for the unconventional move of pulling Wasdin in the 4th.
  9. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) If last year was Corpseball ... can this be Spiffball? The first use of spiff that I actually find funny. Well done
  10. QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) Yeah, gut you gotta be aggresive. I dont think it was a bad call to send him...............hell yeah DP You have to be smart! With someone as slow as AJP (or PK, Crede), you better be sure they're going to make it when you're down 3 and other guys are on base. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) Kinsler smoked it, fortunately right at Iguchi for the 4-6-3. Buehrle is not fooling anybody, but now it's time for the offense to get something done. Kinsler is a great looking hitter.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:58 AM) Well I am confused, you said it would have taken a perfect bunt by Uribe to move AJ along but whatever. I agree with you, they needed to have Uribe bunt there. Pods comes thru with a base hit which would've scored one run but instead it's a momentum shift. Bad baseball. I completely disagreed with Uribe not bunting, but I was trying to explain why Ozzie didn't have him bunt. I don't know what the hell we can do to spark this offense. We're slow, and station-to-station. However, when your "non-power hitters" can't execute, you're screwed. I've labored back and forth on this, but my dream acquisition would be Miguel Tejada.
  12. QUOTE(premo @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) I think we've had runners thrown out at home more than any team in the majors....... And without a doubt, we've thrown out the fewest guys at home in the majors (ZERO).
  13. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) 2005 Orioles? Or just 2002-2004 White Sox.
  14. Joey Cora = running us out of innings. You can't be doing that when you're down by a couple of runs. He did that against the Yanks in a very similar situation.
  15. What in the world is AJP looking at? Uribe not bunting cost us two runs. This team flat out deserves to lose right now.
  16. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) No outs, how can we manage not to score here ... just watch. We've become very station-to-station. There's not a whole lot of speed, so unless we string together a lot of hits and then a homer, we're not going to have a big inning.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) BA is the absolute perfect candidate right here, nice linedrive hitter he could put one in a gap. His head's coming off the pitch more tonight than it was in the last two weeks. He needs to stay on the pitch.
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) 2 on, no out, and they don't bunt Uribe. I don't get that. With AJP at 2nd, it would have to be a pretty damn good bunt to work.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) This is good baseball by the offense right here. Until that. We need to get some big, clutch hits going.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) No, they have a very reasonable option on him for 2007. No, I meant for the free agency after next year. I can't stress how important it is for this franchise for Anderson to become an everyday center fielder, and McCarthy a solid starting pitcher.
  21. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) spiff, the second that slam was hit against the Tigers I had the same feeling that I had when Hunter knocked down Burke. It seemed to suck the life out of the team and it never came back. Very interesting observation. For me, it reminded me of Crede's walk-off vs the Indians. Monroe's slam is probably the biggest Tigers hit in 20 years.
  22. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) but hes very popular in the clubhouse, 3-time allstar, never gets hurts, eats up innings.. And about to become VERY EXPENSIVE!
  23. Putting together some good ABs, and our bats are catching up to the pitches. Lets make this a tight game again.
