Wow...very nice! Against a sinker baller who doesn't strike out a lot of guys, that's an excellent call by Ozzie.

Well...he broke the pattern. Lets avoid the double play, and start putting together consecutive hits.

Here comes either a K, homer, ground out to 3rd base, or pop up on the right side.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) St. Louis, while in dire need of pitching, really doesn't have anything that great in their minor leagues IIRC. Certainly nothing worth Buehrle. I know, it's too bad we can't get a "Mulder" package from them.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) think St.Louis still wants him? I don't know, but there's no doubt in my mind that KW should be on the phone with them this offseason. It was a flare, no one had a chance to catch it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) At the rate this is going, you ain't seen nothin' yet. The boo birds would be going nuts at the Cell, but it looks like a bunch of camp kids who all love Scott Podsednik.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) Since Minny and Detriot play each other the Sox I think must sweep Baltimore and by some miracle win today. I'm loving our chances of Garcia vs Bedard.

I LOVE giving up outs via the bunt when we're losing.

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) I wonder if Gardenhire will switch their rotation up so he gets both Liriano and Santana against Detroit. With the offday tomorrow, he could have Liriano Friday and Santana Sunday on regular rest. I doubt he'd do that to Radke but we know he likes to do that with matchups. I've heard he will. One question...why are you praying? We better root like hell for the Tigers this wknd.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:14 PM) And this guy is a 2006 all star? Yeesh. As was AJP. Meanwhile, Schilling has 13 wins, and Verlander's ERA is around 2.70 now.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 06:13 PM) Boy, if the Twins just sit on that change up, they'll hit a dozen HR's off of Buehrle today (because Ozzie will be sure to leave him in for 7 innings to make sure he gives up that 12th HR). You gotta love back to back change-ups right down the plate.

Buehrle's not getting the corners so far. If this means he has to throw more pitches over the plate.....DUCK!

Twins @ Sox - 7/26 Game Thread
With Buehrle on the mound, we need our best defense playing. There's no excuse for Anderson not playing today.

Interesting....Iguchi bats .335 vs rhp, and .215 vs lhp. Cintron bats .46 pts higher against lhp than he does rhp. So, it makes sense to not play Cintron against a lefty, and bench Iguchi today.

White Sox Loser
In all seriousness, Pods would have had a better chance because he would have been playing Bartlett much deeper than Ozuna was. It's just been a running theme all season....our outfield defense inability to make a big play. Cuddyer throwing out Iguchi was a huge play in the game. It would be nice if just once, our outfielder can throw out someone in a big spot.

Long relievers
With Ozzie's style of managing, a long reliever is pointless. He's not the type of manager to pull a starting pitcher in the 5th or 6th inning. We've added a lot of depth to our bullpen lately, and unless McCarthy is moved into the rotation, there's no reason to add a long man.

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Try watching the Twins in BP-purposly hitting grounders & line drives-few fly outs and few home runs-of course we are not allowed in to see Sox BP, but I would bet its different. I wonder how long this season Twins fans were saying "if only we had an offense like the White Sox". The Twins are just playing excellent baseball right now, and capitalizing on every chance they get. The White Sox can't play worse if they tried. When Jason Tyner resembles Rod Carew at the plate, things are going well for your team.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:33 AM) You lose are credibility as soon as you start talking about the clubhouse. How do you know what's going on in there? When players state that they're just waiting for something bad to happen. When that's going on, you don't have a positive vibe in the clubhouse.

White Sox Loser
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:10 AM) But his veteran leadership will completely turn this team around. It doesn't matter that he's 47 years old. He would have been a great addition as a bench coach or a roving minor league instructor.

QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:10 AM) Fathom, negative will lead to NOTHING! Suck it up the bad times, and let's hope for the good times that will soon arrive. Tell that to the players. I don't want to hear quotes about how the players are waiting around knowing something bad is going to happen. Regardless of what Hawk says, there's a terrible vibe going on through the clubhouse right now.
