  1. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) jeez, kendall He's a tough out, especially against a soft-tossing pitcher where he can adjust his swing on the fly.
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) The Entire Polish connection is in the line up tonight: Pods, Konerko, AJ, and Mack If only Contreras was pitching.
  3. Keep it going Rob! As I said all offseason....he's as streaky of a player as there gets in baseball. Is this the time to bring in Anderson for defense though?
  4. QUOTE(Reddy @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:41 AM) i'm pretty sure this group is gonna make it stressful as well Considering our relievers from the 7th inning on were basically automatic all season at home, I didn't recall the games being overly stressful until the last 40 games of the season.
  5. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) That's what I am f***ign thinking. These guys have not had a real pitcher in 5 years why do they just keep recycling this useless crap like Runelvys and Gobble? Cause they're cheap
  6. Question....how does the Duque trade make its way on to the main page on yahoo.com?
  7. I can't believe Hawk just said this is a more fun team to watch than the 2005 team that won the World Series and led from wire to wire. I actually think the talent on this year's team is better....but I was surprised at the comment.
  8. BTW...I don't know if anyone saw this, but Broadway was mentioned by Gammons as one of the 10 starting pitchers in the minors that could possibly come up and contribute this season, if needed.
  9. Buehrle with some real good location/crispness that inning.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) That guy is just royally f***ed in the head at this point. He just got Pujols'd too hard He needs a change of scenery. His value is never going to be lower than it is now. I saw him pitch over the wknd, and his stuff is still electric.
  11. QUOTE(CYGarland @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) Buehrle got away with 1 there He's gotten away with quite a few tonight to Frank.
  12. Big K by Buehrle. And Jim....I'm not sure if he's a Boras client.
  13. BTW...Lidge with another terrible outing. Get on the phone KW!
  14. QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) 2-1 I'll take it. One mistake and then a great at bat by Thome. Exactly....I'll take it. The inning started due to Swisher's miscue at 1B. Buehrle has a tough inning here, with 3 guys with massive power.
  15. QUOTE(daa84 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) yep hung that breaker, the one to cintron was down and in and unhittable, that one to thome is the one we gotta jump on...hangers up and over teh plate That's also the reason that Thome's a future HOF, and Cintron is a bencher. Thome was able to lay off some of those pitches, and didn't get down 0-2 in the count. However, Cintron was down in the count 0-2 right away due to bad pitch selection.
  16. Super!! Haren's made two mistakes this inning, and our guys put good swings on it.
  17. QUOTE(CYGarland @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) He's already on 2nd, and why steal 3rd with 2 outs? I've seen a lot of guys run in that situation this year. All it does is throw the hitter off.
  18. Pods....please don't try to steal with Thome up.
  19. Not going to see many worse ABs than that.
  20. That a boy Pods!!!! Very nice approach by him with two strikes. Finally Haren left one up.
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) Horrible there. Regardless of what Hawk says, Ozuna shouldn't have given up the first strike swinging away. It's fine though...he's allowed to mess up on offense once every century.
  22. Our hitters try to get too cute when they're bunting for a sacrifice. Pods and Ozuna are much better when they go for a hit w/no one on.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Kendall is setting up away after Haren gets a strike on right handers. Then he nibbles further out trying to get our guys to swing at crap. I'm usually with you complaining about our hitter's approach. However, Haren has some dynamite stuff so far.
  24. A nice break for us. It's time for Ozuna to get the bunt down. Bunt it at Swisher, and make him make the play.
  25. QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) That's because he disguises it really really well. Arm angle and release point look very similar, the hitters need to figure out some tendancies of what this guy throws when in the count ... and fast. Good observation. Right now, our hitters are in-between against Haren. They have to take away either his fastball or splitter. Since they're not going to touch his splitter, they might as well look to rip the heater. Mackowiak's inability to lay off of a 58 footer really hurt in the 2nd.
