Needless to say, there's going to be some ph in the next few innings for the Sox.
-
Very, very impressive inning for Thornton. He faced 3 very tough hitters, and he controlled each AB.
-
Another defensive mishap by Uribe that he won't get credit for an error on, but it really hurts the team.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) There has to be a change soon. One of Uribe, BA, and Politte has to go or lose their starting role very soon. These three guys haven't even shown signs of improvement. They have been the definition of garbage. Don't forget the amazing contributions we're getting from Gload.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Tigers only down 1 Why can't we have Granderson, and the Tigers have Anderson?
-
QUOTE(daa84 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) actually was a decent slider....jhonny just poked it through right side The book is out on Cliff....he's going to keep throwing you outside slider after outside slider. This team has two players that shouldn't be performing in the majors right now, and it's Anderson and Politte.
-
Politte = done with.

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) this cant continue, 8,9 auto. outs. because when we have games like yesterday, sure it dont matter, but when u have games like this where u need a damn run, well, were screwed. Everyone knew our 1-7 wasn't going to stay hot all season. It was just a matter of time before the 8-9 struggles were magnified. The Indians bullpen might not matter though.... Politte shouldn't be pitching in a close game.
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) It does. I would be severely disappointed if we didn't pull this off. Cabrera's been pretty damn good in his last 10 appearances. Wickman always makes it interesting though.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) The vulchers are really circling the non-hitting carcass of Brian Anderson tonight. About dam time! It's just amazing how consistently bad he's been this year. He had a stretch on the west coast where he was getting a favorable count in a lot of ABs. Besides that, he's been awful at the plate. And lets be honest...he's not hitting into bad luck either.
-
f***....PK couldn't have asked for a better pitch to hit. Way too many uppercut swings the last two innings.
-
QUOTE(PeoriaSoxFan @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) 2nd guessing, but why not put Pods in now for Pablo, with the righty pitching? Ozuna is brutal in LF> Pablo deserves the AB. He has just as good of a chance of getting on as anyone else.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Wait, why would that help the situation? It wouldn't at all. However, just cause someone plays good defense in CF, it doesn't mean they deserve to keep playing on the big league level (especially a WS contender).
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) I almost wish BA would start sucking in the outfield... atleast then they would have more fuel to get him out of here. But damn, this kid has skills in the outfield. He's so, so good. Why don't we use the DH on the CF, and actually hit the pitcher? Haha, that would he awesome. Might as well sign Darren Lewis then. He can play a great center field, and he could hit about .150 now.
-
QUOTE(JimH @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) They still need a RH hitting OF who can play all three positions and preferably can run a bit. Who do the Pirates have on their 40 man, they would love a White Sox pitching prospect. I saw Luis Terrero play over the wknd for Ottawa, and he didn't impress me too much. The Pirates only good outfielder is Bay.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 31, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) I would doubt it. Its not like its Jon Garland he's batting against. Yes, but the Ozzie stuff came out before we had to face the lefties. Now that we're done facing them, it wouldn't stun me. The only problem is that we have absolutely no one we could call up to replace him.
-
The Tigers 8-9 has 19 combined homers. I don't know if our 8-9 has 19 combined hits.
-
Anyone think Anderson's going to get shipped out after tonight?
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Well you whine about everything else. Why not this? Get off my f***ing back. You've been talking s*** to me the last few weeks, and it's been unprovoked.
-
Very undiscipline swings for our last two batters.....what else is new from the bottom of our order?
-
Fantastic base running

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) I know! How the f*** can a guy make 16 outs with RISP. f***ing Konerko. I really hope that wasn't directed towards me. I know Dye's been amazing with RISP, and just wanted to confirm he was referring to Konerko. If there's anyone who deserves slack with Sox fans, it's PK. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) I would be thrilled if BA could hit .250 by the end of the year. That's not too likely anymore, though. I'd be satisfied now if he ended up hitting .225 and got hot in time for the playoffs. My prediction is that we'll have a new center fielder by the end of June.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) Cmon SnB, it's not like he has 22 hits in 38 ABs with RISP or anything.....oh, wait. Is that what Konerko is with RISP?
-
How many fastballs down the cock can you foul off PK? Terrible
-
Man....Anderson breaks a lot of bats. That's a very telling sign that he's not getting his hands through and letting the bat follow.
