  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Oh no. I didn't wanna hear that name. Indeed
  2. AJP is not doing a very good job of framing the pitches so far. A couple of times, he just stabbed at the ball.
  3. Oakland always has a great approach against Buehrle.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Randy Johnson sucks. It's funny to think back about all the things we were offering to try and get him. He's just terrible now. The New York media is going to be freaking out after tonight's performance.
  5. Dye just made that look so easy. Great play!
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 24, 2006 -> 09:30 PM) Fans want a reason to b**** and moan, this winning stuff is new to us and we're still getting used to the mindset. :headshake There are plenty of times to use this reference, but I don't think this is one of them.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Isn't this more than likely just a way to light a fire under BA's ass? In all honesty, after reading Ozzie's quotes about Anderson this year, I think he's very disappointed in his at-bats this season. Ozzie not only mentioned the lack of hits, but he singled out the lack of quality at-bats.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 24, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) They did take him out in the middle of Paulie's at bat. I found that a bit odd. That's not the first time Ozzie's done that this year. He probably just had the idea at that moment, and decided to pr for Thome.
  9. The more this season goes on, the more I believe we're going to be in the market for a CF in a few months.
  10. How do we know Thome is even injured? I thought he was pulled from the game for the simple reason that we were up by a lot, and there was no reason to keep him in the game. He seemed fine running the bases last night. Instead of being upset he's in the lineup, we should be thrilled that he's healthy enough to play.
  11. Give Gload the start at 1b, put PK at DH, and let Mackowiak play in CF.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:04 PM) Ozuna is one of the fastest guys in the league IMO. ^^^^^^^^^^ It's funny when some people actually state that Pods is faster. It's not even close, in my opinion.
  13. I said this in the thread, and I really meant it. Against a lefty, with the winning run on 3rd and 2 outs, there's no one else on the team I'd rather have up. Ozuna has so many options for getting a hit (bunt, infield chopper, liner to right field). He also makes a lot of contact, and you know he's not going to be trying to hit a homer.
  14. There's no comparison between Ozuna's play and Neifi's play. With Ozuna going for the bunt, he was in a situation where if the bunt is successful, the Sox win. Thus, he was showing the balls to actually go for the win. However, even if Neifi was successful with his bunt, the Cubs would have needed another hit to score the runner from 2nd base. Also, Chad Cordero does a pretty good job of fielding his position. Flores, on the other hand, was finishing off on the left side of the mound.
  15. Good win tonight. It's great to win the series.
  16. To make matters worse for KC....they could have traded Sweeney for superstar in the making Alexi Rios a few years ago.
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:47 AM) Yet, apparently, he'd be doing much, much better than garland in the rotation... I think he would be in a much better groove pitching once every 5 days. It's very hard for a changeup pitcher to be a reliever. McCarthy's already said it's a feel pitch for him, and he struggles with it out of the pen.
  18. McCarthy's up with everything in the zone. It had to be rough for him tonight...it's been a while since he was in a game.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) Might wanna throw a heater one of these years. This is Widger's type of pitcher!
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ May 24, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) LOL never thought I'd see the day, rooting for Jeff Nelson in a matchup vs. Frank Thomas. And it still turns out wrong. Yep...it was very surreal. It seemed funny how Frank controlled that AB. How come when we rooted for him, he seemed like he was always down 0-2?
  21. Good job by Nelson. Even with less than his solid stuff...he's still better than Logan or Montero.
