  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Also, didn't Crede start at SS and then get ejected so Dye had to play some SS? Oh yes. We lost that game cause Rowand "lost" a ball in the sun in the 9th inning. For such a good outfielder, he sure did suck defensively late in the game.
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 23, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) I remember last year Saarloos owned us in Oakland, lets change that. Wasn't that the game where we had the awful lineup, with Widger at 3b? If so, we had plenty of chances vs him, but we couldn't avoid the double play.
  3. Saarloser's going to give up a lot of base runners. We just have to be patient, and avoid the double play against him.
  4. QUOTE(Wanne @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) How often do you think Hendry kicks himself in the ass for not jumping on Prior for Tejada when it was a possibility? The Orioles wanted Zambrano in the deal. Every executive in baseball knows that Prior's injury issue isn't in his arm/shoulder/elbow....it's in his vagina.
  5. Nelson is one of those guys who always made you feel like our righties had no chance against him. Like others have stated, it's important that Ozzie uses him in situations where he has to face righties. For example, he'd be a good guy to use against someone like Frank or Bobby Crosby in this series. If we put him in to face someone like Scutaro, then the A's can get the advantage by having a lefty bat for him.
  6. I'd be willing to bet that Wood ends up in Texas, Houston, or with the Yankees if he's available this offseason.
  7. I posted this stat last night. Garland's already given up half the amount of homers he did last year, in nearly 25 pct of the innings he pitched (like 221 compared to 57). Garland has to get back to throwing his sinker. His four-seamer is good enough to be a good pitcher in the majors.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:28 AM) I luv that feeling that you're never really out of it... I was reading a Cubs message board last week, and someone said how it doesn't matter how much the score is against the Sox, they come back in every game they play. It was satisfying to see that, as that's the way many of us feel about the Twins of years past, and the Indians last year.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:23 AM) This game couldn't have been written any better. As a White Sox fan first and also as a Frank fan, it'll take awhile to come off this baseball high. This game totally took away the disappointment of yesterday. It was a great comeback, and the ghost of the A's is over. I absolutely loved the hustle from AJP and Ozuna in the last inning.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) There are plenty of times to say something like that. THis wasn't one of them. that's all I was saying. We can argue about his defense another day. Fair enough...hence my Debbie Downer comment.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) LOLOLOL :puke What? That's the reason he wasn't a career major leaguer. You know I think Ozuna is easily one of our best hitters, always has a plan at the plate, and is easily our fastest runner.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) Pablo's terrible. lol. i laugh at things like. pablo is so awesome. He's only terrible on defense. He'd be a perfect DH....without the power.
  13. Also...tremendous hustle by AJP going from first to third on that hit by Mackowiak.
  14. QUOTE(Nokona @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) HOW WAS THIS MAN NOT A CAREER MAJOR LEAGUER. I AM IN LOVE. Not to be Debbie Downer, but he had like 50 some errors in the minors each year. Also, in the roids era, guys weren't clamoring for guys like him.
  15. PABLO'S THE f***ING MAN!!! Great win. That's our boy jphat.
  16. Here's our best hitter in this situation. He's liable to do anything at the plate.
  17. Uribe would have been better off taking that to right. Instead, he tried to pull the pitch well outside.
  18. Good patience by AJP. He almost came out of his shoes to swing at the 3-2.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:08 AM) Horrid swing by AJ. For a guy with a high ERA, he is fooling the first two batters thus far. Seems like the type of guy you got to let come to you. So you like Uribe's chances?
  20. I hate when our hitters get into extra innings. They all swing for the fences.
  21. Here comes the change. We need him to keep it up.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 23, 2006 -> 03:04 AM) I still cant understand how people dont have faith in Bob. Without a doubt, I trust him more than anyone else in our pen. At least he has the ability to K any hitter with his stuff.
  23. NASTY!!! Now make sure Ozuna's not on the field if it goes to the 11th.
  24. Crosby is dangerous cause he'll just take the fastball to right.
