  1. Pudge made that look easy. We need a double play.
  2. How can a slap hitter continue to be so poor at protecting the plate? I'll never understand that about Pods.
  3. You know what's scary....I'm almost ready to give Pods a shot in CF, and Ozuna the start in LF against LHP.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) Exactly. So going up against a good pitcher who normally does pretty well against you, wouldn't you want to be agressive and try to get all the runs you can? THey ahad a good relay play. A hell of a lot of times it isn't a good relay play. I didn't see the play, so I'm not sure what to think.
  5. Good job by Garland! Dye made sure Mackowiak knew he had that ball.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) Pitchers somehow settle in all the time when an offense lets them off the hook. Jphat, I know you're going to argue this because it has a shred of negativity towards the Sox, but it's a normal occurance in baseball. Rogers twins, J. Moyer, did the same thing vs the Sox this year. We hit him hard in the first inning, and scored some runs. However, we left on a couple of guys in scoring position, and we struggled against him the rest of the game.
  7. Nice fastball by Garland. Inge has hit him very hard in his last few games vs the Tigers.
  8. Garland's control got him in a bad situation. He's lucky that ball stayed in the park.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) THat's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. The worst thing I've seen on soxtalk all year was the person who said there wasn't much difference between Hunter and Brian Anderson offensively.
  10. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Mack has to be the worst hitter against lefties that I have seen for some time. And for some reason, Ozzie wants him to play full-time. Against lefties, you might as well let Anderson play. If both guys aren't going to get hits, might as well have the better defender in the game. I can't wait for our CF production against the Indians this wknd.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) So that's what a good offensive and defensive CFer looks like. I can't believe how pathetic our CF situation has become.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) I'm already tired of hearing about the play after several innings. If the decision alone decides the game we obviously had troubles scoring runs and holding Detroit. I'd be more upset if it were later in the game, or only 1 out. Not worth discussing. You never know though what happens if he holds the runner. Crede getting a hit to leadoff the next inning only makes it seem like a worse decision. In the past, we got to Rogers early (Frank usually crushed him). However, Rogers would settle down as the game went on. Great swing by Uribe, great catch by Granderson.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Is he out of the game? Yes
  14. Crede has a lower back injury. Lets hope it's not like last year's lingering injury. The last thing we need is another lesser bat at the bottom of the order.
  15. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) Cora has made some very stupid calls at 3rd but for the most part they have worked out. I did not hear any one complaining last night when Crede scored the winning run. He scored because Gomez made an error (yes, it wasn't called an error). If you're going to have to rely on the defense making an error in order for the run to score, you're going to be in trouble
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Garland pulling a Loaiza 04, just can't keep the ball in the park. Yep...and it's happening at the worst times, it seems. Loaiza was the king of bad timed homers allowed. It's so disturbing to see a supposed sinker baller give up so many homers.
  17. Garland looking like absolute s*** this inning. He narrowly escaped the first two outs, but then gives up that homer.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) I-rod could have eaten a gyros and then tagged him out. It sure sounded on the radio like Cora ran us out of the inning.
  19. Whew....that was pretty damn close.
  20. Just got back...after browsing this thread, I take it Dye was out by a lot at home?
  21. Garland's on the mound tonight, which means our worst defensive team will be playing. Thus, Ozuna will be in LF, and Mackowiak in CF.

Give me Brady Clark or Lew Ford, and I'm a happy man.
  23. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Interesting. But for all we know, Ford may play CF like Mackowiak. Whenever I see him in the outfield, he seems like he's a terrific defender. He also has a cannon for an arm.
  24. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) That's the thing that's been driving me nuts about the kid too, I can't find a single obvious thing he's doing wrong at the plate. With a guy like Uribe, or when Crede stops hitting, usually the mechanical mistake they're making is obvious (and it's usually flying open way too early and trying to pull an outside pitch). But with Anderson, I haven't seen him doing that, he looks like he's keeping his shoulders closed, he's taking a short stride, he's shifting his weight, he looks like he's doing everything right, except every time he hits the ball it goes straight at someone. The problem is, it's going straight at the fans sitting down the right field line. Lets not kid ourselves....he's not hitting into bad luck. He rarely hits the ball with any authority, and he's been too easy of an out at this level. He desperately needs to go down to the minors and regain confidence. It's just disturbing that we have no other options right now. I don't want to see Mackowiak full-time out there, especially against lefties.
  25. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) Stop pulling this s***, there is no high bidder with Collins, Weber just cant recruit worth s***. Jimbo...by no means am I an Illini fan. I'm as big of an Illini hater as there is. I've heard from numerous reliable sources that Collins and Longstreet were compensated nicely for their decision.
