  1. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) I've had enough of pods and his s***ty ass swing. He can't even f***ing make contact. He's such a little b****. This post is about three weeks too late.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) nice to see him get a big hit. Yep....I do find it funny when people ask why he's on the team. He's the back-up catcher....and he can be a tough out at the plate vs lefties.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan13 @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Why are we bunting? Do you think Uribe really had a chance to get a hit?
  4. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) The pitching wasn't what made the offense go. Pods was the sparkplug to the offense last year. Yes he's struggling, but that doesn't worry me as much as it would if this was last year. Not so much because I believe he'll come out of it (Not a big believer in his talent), but because of the fact we don't rely on him as much. That's the thing....even when we were winning at an enormous rate to start the year, our offense was still well below average. We were winning games due to our pitchers giving up such a low amount of runs.
  5. QUOTE(credeisamazing @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) ok, as someone who plays softball, last year i played 3rd base. this year, i'm in the outfield now and the point of having a bigger glove is when you're in the infield so you have an inch or so, so that you can knock down the balls so they don't get to the outfield. usually outfielders have smaller gloves than infielders. 2nd of all, have you ever tried stealing a base? it's not that easy, sometimes you make it and sometimes you dont'. he's not going to give up trying to steal bases. if he does that then he's going to get out of the rhythem and then he's going to end up being worse. Congrats on being wrong. Outfielders in BASEBALL have a much bigger glove than infielders. And I don't think we should be worried about Pods losing his rhythm on the bases....he has no rhythm right now, and is a liability trying to steal.
  6. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 30, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) All I know is we are 16-7 with our "sparkplug" not sparking...Pods was a huge need for us last year, but this year, his importance on offense has diminished significantly in my opinion. I'm worried about his personal performance, but as far as it effecting the overall team outcome, I'm not as worried. Our spark plug last year was our pitching. If Pods can't succesfully steal, that's fine. Stay on the base, and try to go from first to third on a single or try not to hurt yourself jogging around the bases on a Thome homer. It's unacceptable how bad he's become on fundamentals. How can you continue to fail to get every bunt attempt down? Also....maybe he needs a bigger glove, but he seems to struggle at picking the ball up off of the ground in the outfield.
  7. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:15 AM) kelvim escobar tomorrow, glad we got this one Mr. Crede's b**** is on the mound tomorrow.
  8. Yep....he found his rhythm from the stretch, and just continued to pitch from the stretch with no one on base. Good for him....as Hawk says, baseball is a game of adjustments.
  9. Great win. It seemed to take forever. Good job managing by Ozzie tonight.
  10. Wow....that's a play that could have been made. With Jenks heat on the mound, I'm not sure why he was so far up the middle.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:08 AM) Cotts with a hell of a game. It was good to see that the last 5 or 6 hitters were well behind on his fastball. I also can't remember him throwing a single offspeed pitch.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:06 AM) It's not just their bats. It's sad when Sandy Alomar Jr. has the best approach at the plate on the team.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:04 AM) Thome and Konerko could steal bases against Dioner Navarro, and they just haven't seemed smart on the basepaths either. Furcal's off to another slow start, and Lofton and Furcal are their speed. I was stunned at how poor their entire team's bat speed looked vs the Cubs.
  14. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:04 AM) Why in the world would Uribe try and steal? Let's get the pitching staff to hang on to it for us. To get in scoring position for Pods. Pods isn't going to get you an extra base hit likely.
  15. Cotts starting the inning? Interesting.....that ball almost squirted through Uribe's glove.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:02 AM) You really need to watch a few Dodgers' games. What's been wrong with them? All I saw was when they played the Cubs. Furcal looked like he ate a little kid.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 05:00 AM) He's getting close, he's just not there yet. He's drawing some walks, but the balls just aren't falling for himi yet. He's been fouling off some hittable pitches. At least he's getting himself into position to get good pitches to hit. Earlier in the year, it was 0-2 right away.
  18. We have got to be the worst base running team in baseball. I've never seen a team make it look so hard to steal a base, while making it seem so hard to throw someone out.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 04:58 AM) What's the feeling bout Anderson these days. He still ain't doing too much at the plate. Looks much better than he did. He's showing a better eye, and taking more confident swings.
  20. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 04:53 AM) Thanks for the summaries Now the question is ... do ya leave Cotts in? Nope...you win or lose with your closer. If they can get 3 to tie or 4 to win against Jenks....they deserve to win.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 29, 2006 -> 04:52 AM) Brian with another good jump. Don't you mean Mr. 5 Star!
