5/23/06: White Sox vs. A's
Settle down Vazquez, and get this guy out. He's got a lot of power, but has struggled this season.

Good changeup. I actually like Vazquez's changeup better than his hook.

Jphat....any idea what Vazquez's fastball is at right now?

Why are we continuing to throw inside to Thomas? Vazquez might be having some shoulder issues, as he keeps trying to loosen it up.

Another amazing AB by Uribe. He should be fined every time he hits the ball to left field.

Saarloser is lucky that Crede didn't get under that high sinker.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:23 AM) This game is going to get out of hand in a hurry. Against the A's and with Vazquez on the mound (notorious for blow ups), no lead is big enough.

It's amazing how much consistent production we're getting from our 3-4-5. You don't f*** with them.

Wow...talk about getting on top of the ball.

As Garland knows, high sinkers go a LONG WAY! Good job PK.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Scotty should stop stealing. It isn't working. You know he's much better at stealing 3rd than he is 2nd base. However, Kendall is the type of catcher that Pods feasts on.

Wow....way to go Pods!

QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) When was the last time Cintron hit a ball hard? He hit a long fly ball off of the baggie vs the Twins 2 wks ago.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Cintron's swing is so long. Indeed

Over/under 3 times tonight of Hawk saying Saarloser is a great fielder....and just as I type that, he says it.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) 12 pitch first inning for JV> A lot is going to depend on how he's used. Maybe more so than anyone else in our bullpen. He'll have no problem with our new philosophy of throwing 5 sliders to every hitter in the 7th and 8th innings (basically, the Politte rule).

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) So, is this Nelson guy going to be effective do you think? Or just another Montero/Logan? He fits our needs a lot better than those minor leaguers did.

Very nice catch by AJP. That has to be a ball that Crede takes.
-
5/23/06: White Sox vs. A's
Close pitches being called balls. However, I'd like to see our team keep its composure with the umps tonight.

SportsNation Biggest Blunders from Neyer
Dick Allen brought up the biggest blunder by far. Passing on Bonds in the draft. Forget about what's happened in the last 5 years with him. Before the steroids, he was still one of the greatest all-around players in baseball history.

I remember that 2nd game against Saarloser. Willie Harris was absolutely pathetic. I think he failed to get the bunt down twice in that game.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Also, didn't Crede start at SS and then get ejected so Dye had to play some SS? Oh yes. We lost that game cause Rowand "lost" a ball in the sun in the 9th inning. For such a good outfielder, he sure did suck defensively late in the game.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 23, 2006 -> 10:05 PM) I remember last year Saarloos owned us in Oakland, lets change that. Wasn't that the game where we had the awful lineup, with Widger at 3b? If so, we had plenty of chances vs him, but we couldn't avoid the double play.
-
5/23/06: White Sox vs. A's
Saarloser's going to give up a lot of base runners. We just have to be patient, and avoid the double play against him.

QUOTE(Wanne @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) How often do you think Hendry kicks himself in the ass for not jumping on Prior for Tejada when it was a possibility? The Orioles wanted Zambrano in the deal. Every executive in baseball knows that Prior's injury issue isn't in his arm/shoulder/elbow....it's in his vagina.
