  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) If there is truth to this rumor, it would seem the Sox are throwing Haeger to the wolves. Wouldnt Redding be a better spot starter,seeing as he actually has MLB experience? Redding is terrible though. At least with Haeger, you have the chance of him being a diamond in the rough at the MLB level. If Contreras is only going to miss a week or so, I have no problem giving Haeger the start.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) I don't know more than it being a back problem. As far as Dye goes, he's still tight and is going to miss a few more games, unless his swelling goes down relatively quickly. Thus there is validity to this rumor?
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 8, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Guys, you may want to listen to our radio show. Mario and I's sources said that Contreras was being treated for his back. Spasms?
  4. San Fran is hosting Chicago this week.

    WOW

    I was impressed with how vocal the crowd was today. Kudos to all the fans who are going to the game. Baseball's the one sport where getting people into the stands, legit or bandwagon, is critical (payroll).
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) It was the one that looked like a curveball. When was this. To my eyes, it looked like all fastballs and curves.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Did you see Jenks' f***ign change-up! OMG! No, I didn't. I must have been watching a different game.
  8. Good win. You don't f*** with Joe Crede.
  9. Great play by Uribe! That's why you can't ph for him in the 8th.
  10. Not a good AB by Ozzie's nemesis.
  11. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) i vote for more cintron playing time until uribe figures this s*** out He's hit like s*** recently also.
  12. Ugh....right down the plate. This is as bad as Uribe has ever looked. At least he got the flare vs Seattle earlier in the week.
  13. Stay back on the ball Uribe!
  14. Sisco with his usual impressive performance vs the Sox. I think he's the anti-J.C. Romero.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Nope, but he was also fighting them off the outside corner, it was a good up and in heater and Joe just beat him. Trust me, I'm not complaining. I also wanted to show that I'm capable of criticizing other managers besides Ozzie. My philosophy was that with an open base, if Crede put that slider into play, it wasn't going to be hit hard. Dessens has always been a slider pitcher, and his fastball is his #2 pitch.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) That was actually a real good pitch especially because he had been throwing him all breaking balls. Joe is just good, real good. The thing is, Crede's at his least dangerous when he has 2 strikes, and just throws his bat at the slider. With an open base, if I'm the manager, I make him hit a slider. Dessens has a very good slider, and Crede wasn't taking healthy swings at it.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) I can't see how they're going to throw him a fastball. Thanks KC.
  18. I can't see how they're going to throw him a fastball.
  19. With two strikes, Crede's best chance is to flare one to right field.
  20. Crede's looked much better recently than Konerko has.
  21. We've sure made a lot of outs on 3-2 pitches today.
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:15 PM) our bullpen needs some roles. Someone needs to emerge as the 8th inning guy. Again...I hope season 2 of Prison Break takes place in Venezuela.
  23. BTW...even though McCarthy has struggled recently, I like seeing Ozzie using Cliff more in the 7th inning, and McCarthy later in the game.
  24. Great pitch!! 1-2-3 coming up here for the Sox.
