  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:15 AM) This, my friends, is why McCarthy has to stay in the 'pen. It's suspect enough with him. Without him? Yikes. Actually, this is how Hermanson really screwed us over, and our inability to get another competent reliever in the offseason has given us no bullpen depth. Hopefully Nelson can show something in the next two weeks.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:14 AM) Its not Ozzie's fault that Jenks had literally nothing today. It's scary that we've heard that twice in the last 6 nights about our closer.
  3. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:12 AM) LOL, this is embarrassing. And this has been against our 4 best relievers.
  4. Thornton's WHIP in the 9th inning this season must be like 4.0
  5. We've been giving up a lot of base runners in the 9th inning over the last few weeks. Luckily, there's only been one blown save in that time.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:08 AM) The White Sox pitch calling continues to lean heavily toward outside. Jenks got hurt on two pitches out over the plate although Rivera did a good job on his double, not too bad of a pitch there. IMO they are not busting guys inside enough. I've noticed that the Sox are trying to get Jenks to get two fastballs over for strikes, and then throw the hook to try and get the K. The problem with that is his fastball is short a few mph, and hitters are making good contact.
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:05 AM) How'd the knuckleballer look tonight? I know nothing about the game. I assume in the final analys he's why we're going to lose. If Jose pitches tonight, no b****ing; another win. My 120 year old dead great grandmother has more bladder control than Haeger did of his knuckler tonight.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:05 AM) Looks like we got 'fat' Bobby tonight. You mean with the ERA in the 5's?
  9. 2 out of 3 pathetic performances for Jenks. His fastball is bad right now. Not a well managed inning by Ozzie here.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ May 11, 2006 -> 03:03 AM) Since when is a game over when you're down 2 runs? Since people try to sound "cool" by acting like they give up.
  11. Jenks and his 93 mph fastball there. I don't get how he can be so inconsistent from appearance to appearance. We've got to hold back on how often we use him, and with Cotts showing good stuff tonight, he probably should have stayed in.
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:57 AM) His arm's probably not ready for it. Put him on a pitch count of 60, and hope he can give you 5 innings. With all the lefties the Twins will have in the lineup, someone like Thornton could give you an inning against them.
  13. I know this is revisionist history, but it's too bad that Ozzie didn't pull Haeger after he allowed the two base runners in the 5th inning. It was obvious at that point that he wasn't going to get out of the inning, but those 2 runs loom large right now.
  14. QUOTE(JimH @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:54 AM) Great job by McCarthy tonite, he really took the challenge head on. What to do you think....does he get the start on Monday?
  15. Great job by McCarthy tonight. I know others will disagree, but I wish he was in our starting rotation this year.
  16. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:49 AM) DAMN! Now we got YereBay coming up and Anderson You might want to chance that to Mackowiak and Cintron.
  17. No chance he was throwing a fastball in that situation. Mackowiak and Cintron better get ready to go.
  18. Good job Pablo. That was a very close play.
  19. A mighty rip by Crede. Here comes the parade of sliders.
  20. Wow....now you have Ozuna run? If you're going to do it, do it right away.
  21. Great AB by PK. It's too early to have Ozuna run for him.
  22. Once he fouled off that first pitch, you knew he was in trouble.
