  1. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) So then why make a comment about anything from the game? There shouldn't even be a game thread. After all, "we're all watching the same game as you are." LOL Trust me, I've been guilty of being repetitive many times on this board. However, it gets to a point where you're better off just backing away. No need to be captain obvious after every Anderson K.
  2. QUOTE(ThinWhiteDuque @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) Minaya didn't make that trade. I'm not sure who did, but Minaya was with the Expos when the Kazmir-Zambrano raping took place. That's right, I think Omar was the idiot who traded Lee, Sizemore, and Phillips for Colon.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Remember that walkoff a few years ago on the fourth of July? That was one of the worst games I can I've ever seen. And we continue to look helpless. We've been kind of stagnant recently. We need a nice win streak to fix things up. You mean we're not going to have 7 hitters batting .300 all season? Thankfully, Pods has been superb lately. He's swinging with more confidence than he ever has on the Sox.
  4. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) Shush...you might upset Tony82087... Well, there's no reason to go out of your way to be an ass about criticizing him. We're all watching the same game as you are.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) This feels like one of those games where it never seems like we have much of a chance for some reason. For some strange reason, a lot of games at Tampa feel that way.
  6. Lots of guys taking strikes, and swinging at balls.
  7. He didn't go. Compare that with the Cuddyer debacle, and it's laughable.
  8. Great pitch to hit, and fouls it off. That's been a trend with Anderson this season.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) Omar Minaya is an idiot. Just FYI. (Unless he's not the one who made the trade. I'm sure he is though. I thought that was the first deal he made with the Mets.
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Phew, the wheels stayed on. So, McCarthy go back out there for another inning or do we give this one to our less-than-dependable half of our BP? At 74 pitches, McCarthy might get one more batter before the lefty is up.
  11. Very good job by McCarthy keeping them from scoring.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) He always reads the fluff. I emailed him the other day and asked how we can pin Garland's struggles on Jerry Manuel this year. He didn't read it, at least on the air. Good stuff
  13. A few runs by Tampa here would really put this game in jeopardy.
  14. I know jphat doesn't want us critiquing negative things, but McCarthy's fastball is 3 mph slower this inning than it had been.
  15. That was like a 7 pitch inning from our 4-5-6.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) And by quality you mean no one disagreeing with you?
  17. Indians have tied their score, and Tigers have cut the lead to 3-2.
  18. BTW, I doubt many heard this conversation, but the radio guys were talking about how Singleton's a better hitter than Travis Lee. Travis Lee put up some very solid numbers last season....and Singleton sucked.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) Man, the game thread yesterday was so much better. Probably because the Sox were winning the whole game.
  20. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 17, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Brutal. It was obvious that it was going to bounce right back to the catcher.
  21. Ugh....not liking that decision too much, but it's worth the risk.
