Like I said last night, we always have warning track power at Tampa, and their hitters make it look like a little league field.
-
An opposite field homer to Norton? That's pathetic for a sinker baller.

QUOTE(daa84 @ May 17, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) aubrey huff....talk about a guy who fell off the face of the planet And it just so happened to be after the 2004 season?????
-
Just got home, but I thought I'd add this criticism.....when Garland's on the mound, Crede needs to be at 3b.
-
If Garland doesn't change speeds well and locate his fastball, guys like Gomes and Wiggington are going to light him up.

QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) Yes. For some reason I remember that game, and I remember that Bonds whacking the catcher on the follow-thru is why he dropped it. Considering you hate the Cubs, you should be happy that it happened.
-
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) Bonds deserves it. He's not a nice person, and he's a juicer. There's a lot of people in baseball then who should get thrown at, if that's the parameters.
-
QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ May 17, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) He has to be suspended so MLB shows it is a one-way street and they won't deal w/ Bonds beaning differently, but at any rate f*** that....that was total horses*** by Springer. If you're going to throw at someone, throw at their back. He threw three straight pitches well up and inside that could have hit Bonds in the head. Of course, I'd expect nothing less from a team coached by a douchebag like Phil Garner.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) If we are comfortably 3-5 games in first place throughout the year I can see them letting him continue to work through his struggles. Players don't just hit below .200 in the majors anymore, and remain a full-time starter. Ozzie has already been discussing, as of a few weeks ago, how Anderson has to start having better at-bats in order to keep his starting spot. He did have some better at-bats over the last few weeks. However, if he continues to hit in the .170s for another 30 or 40 games, I'm confident in saying that a change will be made in CF for THIS season.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 17, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) Personally, if the rest of the lineup holds up their end of the bargain, and BA continues to play stellar defense, I could deal with him hitting under the Mendoza line for the rest of the season. Not a chance that Ozzie/KW will continue to play him if he's hitting under .200 all season.
-
QUOTE(CarlosMartinez @ May 17, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) He may not be bring much to the plate, but how many runs has he kept off the board with his play in center? If we stuck with Ventura and Crede just to keep their gloves around, why wouldn't we stick it out with BA? The biggest difference that I can think of was that those teams with struggling Ventura/Crede weren't expected to compete for the World Series title.

In no way do I mean this sarcastically, but Boone will hopefully be down where he belongs (and can develop into a MLB reliever one day)

Here's a Logan related question, and something that boggled my mind....why was Logan allowed to stay in the game when it was 3-1, and the bases were loaded with Gomes up? It was obvious that Logan was rattled on the mound. I don't think Ozzie managed Logan very well tonight.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:47 AM) And this is why I cant stay mad at him. Its not his fault he has never been above A. I love Kenny and Co.(this includes Oz) but its a shame we needed Boone Logan to pitch innings in 06. This is exactly what has frustrated me. We spent 100 million dollars on this team, but we totally neglected the last part of our bullpen. With the way that Ozzie likes to play match-ups, you can't have a minor league pitcher facing major league hitters.
-
And we're tied for 1st place. Ozzie....please don't ever leave a pitcher out on the mound to "die" against a team with an awful bullpen.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Didn't his chance last year equal a whopping 1 game or so? I was referring more to him mouthing off about getting playing time, etc.
-
Gload continues to not produce when given the chance. I still can't believe he's still on the team after last year.
-
PK trying to hit a 3 run homer with no one on base.
-
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) We scored 7 runs tonight. Our bullpen gave up 7 runs (4 earned). We need bullpen help more than some more offense in CF. We need two new arms in the bullpen. The only reason there's been the CF talk is because I added that I'd much rather have Hunter than Anderson.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) SO, we storm back, and Ozzie throws out someone who might ACTUALLY be worse than Logan, over a guy like Cotts. WOOTNESS! Congrats on the worst post in this whole thread.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:15 AM) Man, take out Logan With what weapon?
-
Meh...terrible AB.
-
Great pitch to hit. Just make contact Jim!
-
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 17, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) That Pods play at the plate looms large now. That's not even one of the 10 most important plays in this game, if you're going to start analzying how runs were scored.

Ozuna is awesome
