QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:30 AM)
That s*** has slump written all over it. What can you do?
Worry more about winning than getting your buddy a win
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:25 AM)
Don't get your hopes up. We already lost. Just aks Jimbo or Fathom.
Um...not once did I say we lost. I just hate when our manager is more concerned with giving a pitcher the chance to win than taking him out when he's clearly exhausted.
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:23 AM)
Runs allowed in the last 8 games:
12,10,8,7,3,10,2 and 5 so far tonight.
And that's against terrible hitting teams
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:22 AM)
...and it's always so much easier to do behind a computer screen.
Has AJ caught Vazquez yet this year? (Or in Spring for that matter?)
Ozzie must have been the only person watching this game that couldn't tell Vazquez was gone. Good job Jermaine....too bad we gave them an extra run.
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:20 AM)
Sorry, Vazquez was under 100 pitches, and I think Ozzie wants to give him a chance to get the win hoping our offense could come up with 2 in the next inning.
If Vazquez wanted the chance to win, he should have got Hollins out.
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:20 AM)
How often does Ozzie ever pull a pitcher at the right time? Not much.
It's been BAD this year. However, there's no reason to have to state the obvious again.
Note to Ozzie...when Vazquez starts tiring, take his ass out of the game. This is like 3 games now this year where the floodgates just opened, and we were down before they closed.
Good job Ozzie....way to allow one of your boys the chance to win. What's the point of having 3 lefties if we're not going to take out a tiring pitcher over the 100 pitch mark?
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 19, 2006 -> 01:16 AM)
Recently, the problem has not so much been our pitching as a lack of clutch hitting. Hopefully a change is coming.
Our pitching has been awful recently. Too many 2 out RBIs allowed.
QUOTE(JimH @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:56 PM)
The pitch that Branyon drilled for the HR was really bad. The guys on TV were pointing out that Branyon is a notorious low ball hitter. Branyon has 3 HR's in 4 career at bats vs. Vazquez. Time to shake something up on the approach.
That's the Widge for you.
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:48 PM)
Throw the records out when the two teams play. Plus we may be the better team, but we aren't playing good baseball right now. This weekends series is no gimme, especially with the way the Sox are playing right now.
And they have two very good pitchers going in the series.
QUOTE(3RDBASE @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:47 PM)
i just hope he isnt tipping his pitches still...yikes
I just hope we don't turn into the Cubs and say our pitcher is tipping his pitches every time they have a bad outing.
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:42 PM)
He is annoying but I do respect his extreme devotion to heckling.
What are you doing in this thread? Don't you know the Sox are winning.
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:41 PM)
Well that inning SUCKED
Surprised? At this point in the MLB season, Uribe and Anderson are two of the worst hitters
QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 18, 2006 -> 11:39 PM)
That's Widger's fault for not catching the ball. It was right there. Not offline at all. He tried to make the swipe without the ball and it bounced away, but you are right, doesn't matter anyway.
For some reason, I remember Widger having a lot of problems catching the ball at home on plays at the plate.
