6/2/06: Rangers @ SOX
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:39 AM) Oh, poor Jon. He recovered well from the homer, to have this happen to him. Pods -- bad job. He'll get a lashing from Ozzie in the clubhouse. As far as Nelson goes, I didn't expect him to set the world on fire, and he hasn't disappointed. However, I do like that he looks angry and disappointed in himself but looking to get redemption next time, unlike Politte who throws a s*** inning and looks like he needs to get put to sleep. Thanks for making me laugh with that last paragraph.

QUOTE(Chet @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) Well Hawk, I guess Garland won't get that win after all. But, it was still a great move as we stopped him from possibly getting a loss. Yep...he only held one of the best hitters in baseball to an 0-3 outing tonight. One pitch later, and he had tied the game.

Upon further review, that was absolutely pathetic by Podsednik. He looked like he was taking a nice little jog in the park, and took his time throwing the ball. KW.....GREAT JOB WITH THE BULLPEN BUDDY.

Well....that's another reason you don't bring Nelson in. Also, could Pods take any longer getting to the ball? Nelson obviously doesn't have anything left.

The scary thing about Nelson facing Young is that Young is one of the best hitters on outside pitches in all of baseball. I hope we have Anderson shaded over to right-center.

Well.....everyone's favorite player started a nice 7th inning rally for the Cardinals, who have taken the lead from the Cubs.

Great game for Garland tonight.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) As long as we get there with a 1-run lead I'll take my chances. Getting there is going to be tough Yep...I'll definitely take my chances. All you can ask for is getting to the closer with 4 outs left in the game and the lead.

Frank Thomas is in quite the homer groove.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) Why was Uribe bunting ahead of Anderson. Its not like Juan can bunt at all. And its not like Anderson is lifting fly balls to the outfield. Unless it's Ozuna, why do we ever bunt? We have to have like a 20 pct success rate, in regards to getting the runner over via the bunt.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:24 AM) That blows. Woulda been a big run. Not good by Uribe, though I'm my confidence of Brian getting him in isn't very high. Uribe knows he needs to hit the ball to the right side in that situation. What does he do? Yep, he gets out in front of the pitch, and rolls over to the left side.

We need Pods to get it going again. He was on a great stretch, and he seems to be feeling for the ball. He's usually better when he tries to pull the pitch.
-
6/2/06: Rangers @ SOX
Well....that was disappointing. It's really mind-boggling how infrequently Anderson gets a hit.

Awful AB by Uribe. He's so clueless at the plate.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:20 AM) I still love Ross. He might have been meat on that play. You can't risk it.

Haha...Timo got hit in the head. It was on a slow curve, so he should be fine. OMIT TIMO

Timo's up vs the Cubs

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) I hereby welcome back the 20,000 person crowds. Hard to do the wave when you don't have a full house. If the sell-out crowds that do the wave equate to a payroll of 100 million, I honestly don't care what they do.

Good job Jon!

Definitely a game of inches....Barajas barely got a piece of that, and AJP almost had it.

Great fastballs that AB by Garland. Huge batter in this game in Barajas.

QUOTE(Chet @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Since everyone else has been criticized this year, I would like to criticize the fan who grapped JD's double out of the air. I think he was premature in grabbing and could have cost us a run. Someone should go kick his ass. The replay showed it clearly bounced into the stands.

Damn...good pitch by Garland. He definitely has his work cut out for him this inning.
-

Can Garland keep their 3-4-5-6 in the park?

5 guys left in scoring position thru 5 innings.
