QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) Dye should have been taking on that 3-1 count. We need baserunners. That was stupid. You can't fault him for swinging at a 3-1 fastball down the plate. I know this is a broken record, but the difference in this game tonight is walks.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) Really? I wasn't told 100 times, thanks. You still with us Jabroni; did you break your keyboard on BA's homerun? Are you and jabroni the main event, or the undercard to my bout with jphat?

Just my opinion, but I hate Pods running when Iguchi has 2 strikes there. Iguchi gets distracted when Pods is in motion.

Holy cow! Great job Brian. Thanks for the fastball.

For a team struggling like the Angels were, Christmas came early for them.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Is he performing about as expected for anyone else, or is it just me? I saw him in Spring Training, and I thought he sucked. Watching him tonight....well, nothing's changed.

Calm down Hawk. Anderson should have played that on a hop, and tried to get the guy out at home.

Our infielders have concrete spikes tonight.

Cabrera's like the annoying s*** who won't swing during a softball game and will walk on close pitches.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Haeger served up 5 walks. He was going to get lit up sooner or later. Agreed

We face Escobar and Santana the next two games. I have a feeling a lot of these .300 batting averages will be down 10 pts after Friday night.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) If we lose, I won't entirely blame Haeger either. So I'm not going to assign him as official scapegoat. Tough to win ballgames without baserunners. Santana's a tough pitcher, even if we've had success against him the last two games. He has the classic heater/slider combo that's destroyed our righties for centuries.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:04 AM) Now with a 4 run lead Haegar decides to pitch within the strikezone..... Angels aren't going to be as patient as they were earlier in the game. I actually think Haeger has potential in 3 years to be a solid starter. However, he needs to get command on his knuckler.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) Agreed. No chemistry, yet. It's not the chemistry that's the problem. It's Singleton's voice. Some people have an energetic voice, and others don't.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) Ervin Santana gave up 6 runs on 8 hits in his ML debut. Yep, he gave up the cycle in the first inning. Of course, he was facing the Indians. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) And as bad as Hawk is, I'd can still stomach him before ever daring to listen to the soothing sounds of Singleton. I had never had the pleasure of listening to Singleton do PBP until last Friday night. It was absolutely amazing. He does a hell of an impression of the color analyst from Major League.

I do think it's nice that Anderson has decided to pick up Rowand's slack for weak foul balls to the right side. Those fans probably were sad when Rowand left....but have no fear, our minor leaguer was ready to come up and do his thing. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 11, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) Well, Fathom, it was a fastball to Uribe. Huh? It was a 2-2 pitch though.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Well, it's only a bad inning because we are pitching a guy who normally wouldn't even be on the team. I'm sure the game would be different if Contreras was pitching. I'm just more irritated that our minor leaguers continue to suck whenever they get called up to the majors.

Hawk said "stretch" on a fly ball that was 40 feet from the fence.

Lets all hope McCarthy can give us 3 strong innings tonight, and become an option to start if Contreras is out longer than expected.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Can someone admit it was lack of control and not getting squeezed that got him into this trouble? I know i am not the only one that realizes a ball at the letters in not a strike... yet everyone has said otherwise today. There's been a couple of close pitches, but it was obvious from the first batter on that he was going to have to battle every single hitter tonight. His command of his knuckler sucks. I would guess that half of the players in MLB can throw a similar knuckler with this control (in case you don't know, MLB players practice the knuckler almost every day when they're warming up).

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) Another White Sox pitching prospect wets itself. I'm really tired of watching this. This is the part where he's demoted, and never regains the numbers he had before being called up. At least this one has an excuse to have a mid-80s fastball.

What a shocker. This guy looks like he did in Spring Training....unable to get MLB hitters out.

Until Haeger gets better command of his knuckler, he doesn't have a prayer at this level. Ozzie better get McCarthy up in the pen. That's a play Crede usually makes.
